why is a high IM player making an open team
(heh)
I actually have no problem with the notion that decisions should be made from the top down, I just think the method that slin and b4nny have devised here to do it is almost guaranteed to lead to unsatisfactory outcomes. I mean, 90% of the invite/prem players in this thread are complaining about unlocks as well.
I don't understand what was wrong with the old invite poll system, where 1 representative from each team was asked about the unlocks and then the votes were tallied once EVERYONE's was in. I realize that was just for esea, but why not just do the same thing but with people from etf2l/ozfortress/whatever getting a vote as well?
Benefits from that system:
1. no "first come, first serve" issue where people who couldn't make the meeting have no say whatsoever
2. certainly none of this voice permission shit where people are saying they couldn't even talk
3. no letting a few alpha males cuck the entire rest of the players into going along with their ideas/ballots are closed so no peer pressure (most invite players these days are 17 year old weebs so this is essential)
4. publish the results AFTER the fact so that, while the decision making itself is not affected by outside biases, the community does get to know which players were responsible for which opinion so the correct people get criticized if the whitelist sucks
I am fairly confident that, at the very least, the soda popper and quick fix would not have been allowed if all this happened
I mean technically if u wanna witch hunt me I actually live right here on the red dot:

fight me nerds
two words
history dictates otherwise
I joined that one team
the most optimistic-looking invite division as I see it is with 8 confirmed teams so far:
-froyo
-evl
-bird noises
-meat market
-saams team
-maes team
-sandblasts team
-malicious activity (all the bullet nerds rejoined that roster)
meat market and mal seem to be the least likely so let's say between 6 and 8
that leaves potential move-up candidates:
-catface team
-possible 8K reform of some sort
-waddle r us
-sparkle gang
-odb team
-percy team
-megawac team
ouch (but survivable)
as a jew I endorse anyone with bagel in their username gl
what I got from this thread is that apparently jodd is really cool

mostly hl but a few recognisable 6s names there too, also people could have lied about these :/
the fact that this exists is pretty creepy but hey I guess this whole thread is

it was first broken in ultra-right wing semi-credible publications like American Spectator and the Weekly Standard, and eventually the pseudo-respectable right wing media like Fox News and the Wall Street Journal editorial page reported on the reporting, thus absolving themselves of guilt even though they were spreading the news
in this case, the story was broken in the very left wing, semi-credible buzzfeed news, and then the pseudo-respectable left wing media outlet CNN reported on the reporting, thus absolving themselves of guilt even though they were spreading the news
For another example of this exact same pattern occurring, see the swiftboat scandal about John Kerry in 2004- ultra-partisan outlets report the story, then the mainstream media reports on the existence of the story, that's always how it goes

edit: not to mention the whole birther thing
and that's not even to get into lies spread about candidates and/or congressmen (john mccain fathering an illegitimate black child, "this was not a memorial to paul wellstone", etc.)
y'all always rush things, don't do power rankings until reg ends homies
