I wasn't saying that makes it alright, just saying that it's a counter to the idea that people excuse cheating when it's a high-level player, rather than because of this

If some random or lower-level competitive player cheats and receives a VAC ban for any game (even if it's a rare false positive), a vast majority of the time the community flames the fuck out of them and otherwise exiles them. If an Invite/Prem/well-liked player gets VAC banned (either on their main account or an alt account), the community effectively gives them a slap on the wrist. There's like no consistency.
