also im not seeing how viaduct takes no strategy compared to gpit when gpit was give up a completely (expect for the very very very very rare times teams did an ironman), put a sniper at spawn to watch c, then turtle on b with an engineer until blue gets lucky with an uber and wipes you
im not against ad as a whole, there was that one map that started with a c ugc was trying that was interesting, but gpit was trash
at least viaduct is fun to scrim, gpit is just slamming your head into a wall

reminder the people asking for gravelpit back never actually played it competitively
want to know what's fun? constant engineers and snipers + gimmick strategies

hate to break it to u all but tf2 isn't going to grow, in fact, the amount of players is only decreasing
its weird how many ppl think that a game 10 years past its prime is really going to somehow have an explosion of growth when everything valve has done to help comp tf2 has ended up a failure

season 15 lan had to have been the absolute best lan tf2 has ever had
a lot of the matches were genuinely entertaining, and it culminated into a great grand finals with mix^(mostly squid) talking shit and conga taunting banny in an insanely back and forth set.
i wasn't too integrated with the scene back then, but out of all my friends who were watching, all of us wanted to see mix^ win to end banny's win streak, and we got that in the most entertaining way possible

conversely, the worst imo had to have been season 14. only interesting part were the tri hards which had the potential to be a #1 threat, but they got fucked over on the quick fix lan anyway
