#4 SteveC: A Love Story in TF2 General Discussion
nokkWait what the fuck... Burger King delivers?

this was also my reaction. i guess in a few states they tried out a delivery service for awhile. I don't think they do it anymore, but Steve did it.

Hello friends!

Recently after getting stoned and bored I decided to write a giant thing that would have been considered a feature article if it was "official". Check it out here. There is a picture of SteveC as a baby, its adorable.

xoxolaurenDid we ever finish organizing our informal tf tourney? Add me if we're not done yet/need help organizing it.

Ok, I have confirmed 4 teams formed right now:

r1cky, lambert, antwan, insom, kL, myself

miwo, conductor, lunacide, trisk, gls, ?? (need a 6th)

urban's team

sakura's team with zambler and i forgot who else help!

and then there is enigma's team and b4nny's team, and then i can assume at least one more team of people looking to play, which will be a true pug team.

If people are comfortable with it, I still think a $5 buy in per team is pretty reasonable, but if not I'm sure we can just make the prize a 6x6 at in n out or something. Something wacky would be neat. As far as what time we can do this: 4-8:30p on saturday looks like it is the most open block to have a small tournament in between the csgo and LoL tournaments.

i'll be there late tonight with conductor and mana (around 1am or so) so hopefully I can start getting some more responses from people who want to play. I know RJ is still looking for a team right now, as well as a few other people, so i'll try to get some kind of list going once i get more responses.

chaaz-I've decided I'm going to come to this just to spectate. I will have to leave early on Sunday though, but if anyone has any room on the floor for me to just plop my sleeping bag on, I would greatly appreciate it. Someone offered me a floor to sleep on already, but the hotel room already has 6 people and I dont want to make things more cramped for them.

RastsyeXtineThis is the more complete schedule for the event - http://lanfest.forcerun.com/schedule/ and this is the current rule sheet for TF2 - https://lanfest.intel.com/upload/chapters/3/Sacramento_2013H1/LANFestFall13_TF2_Rules.pdf

I've been told that the rules are still fleXible, but we should get suggestions into them by Friday. I can write an e-mail that will get passed along tonight.

ESEA Whitelist and slight adjustments to the maplist are all that needs to change really. Gpit, Well, Coldfront, and Standin out, Snakewater and what else added in?

Would they be willing to have non-"valve maps" pro_viaduct, koth_coalplant, cp_metalworks? sunshine??? or could we at least do that for our community tournament?

yeah i was hoping we could decide the maplist for ourselves for the DIY tournament. i'll be organizing "teams" this weekend, so get ready to be confused.

RastsyThe lan usually sets up some servers for the tf2 tourney, and I'm sure if you asked them nicely enough they would throw them on again. I'm pretty sure that we pugged on them last time before the tournament.

I'm down for a buy in tournament with cash pots or reasonably cool prizes. I can speak for my team being down as well. I just hope that it doesn't get in the way of other events because i want to play in the cs tourny as well, and make people feel bad that they play battlefield.

In regards to them putting the game on friday at that time, I just question what they are doing to the community that consistently brings 30-40 players to these things.

i was hoping to squeeze it in in between the csgo tournament and the LoL tournament, hopefully we can make it happen. i know its pretty far away but i would like to see how many people are actually interested in playing so we can get an idea of who is gonna play on what team

ok, as far as i can figure there are 41 people from tf.tv forums that already have their seat, with a bunch of other people on the waiting list. this leaves us with one player short to make 7 teams, but i'll be listing the players that i know are going below, i might have missed someone.

pros: if we do have some sort of buy in for this, that means there will be a small prizepool which could be cool. we also can run our own cfgs, choose the maplist (ie not standin or well) and choose when to hold the tournament (looking at the schedule, i'm sure enigma and crew will want to play in the LoL tournament late saturday, so at least we know to be done by 9p saturday night. the csgo tournament ends at 4p as well on saturday, so maybe we can do it in between those two tournaments)

cons: we'll need to decide our teams and have someone keep track of standings, run LAN servers off of our own computers (or get lanfest to let us use their servers ourselves, but they've been pretty stubborn about that in the past) and somehow coordinate at the event who is playing who at any given time.

if you guys have feedback, i'd love to hear it!

JasbuttsThis sounds really cool! I wouldn't mind chipping in or anything even if I decide not to compete. I also wouldn't mind helping with some prize stuff depending if you guys want anything.

winning team gets a 30 pack of natty ice.

seriously though, I'm going to start figuring out who already has their teams set tonight. the appropriate people should add me so we can get an idea of who is playing and whatnot.

#30 CEVO-M Power Rankings Week 1 in TF2 General Discussion
clorgmake the team names link to their team pages

don't you worry clorgy, working on a better format for next week. this week was a little rushed because we were still getting things set up, but next week should be closer to the format we had for the previous power rankings with team page links, team pictures, starting rosters etc etc

a couple of us were talking about hosting our own tournament with a $5 buy in per team on saturday. i know we were going to do this a couple LANs ago but it was a little too hard to organize at the event, so if you guys want to do this as a TF.TV thing I bet we can start organizing it right now. We will need to host our own servers on LAN but I don't think that's a huge deal.

the only thing is I know there are players out there that don't have a team yet, and we would probably need to create a few pug teams. what would the best way to go about this be? create a steam group? i usually don't pay attention to those too much.

if there is enough people going that still want to do a separate tournament outside of the official lanfest one, I'll be down to organize something via google docs or something.
