Shooshlighthousekeeping in the spirit of the thread, i think kaidus is extremely overrated. most of the plays he did were both incredibly risky and not highly rewarding. when he does flashy plays like that and it works, it just gives people who arent as good the idea that they should try doing that and naturally being not nearly as good as kaidus they would likely mess up a lot and be like why am i losing. not at all a big fan of his style
I could talk about this quite a lot tbh but I'm not very good at communicating my point in text on a screen. I actually chatted with some prem players about this at LAN, I think AMS was there (although I was drunk) but what you're doing is directly comparing Kaidus to other demos, when you say he's overrated you're not looking at why he could be overrated.
Kaidus is good because he can do what he does extremely well, if that makes sense. He's a demo who essentially isnt (or doesnt have to be) the main core of the team in that his life is sacrificial in some situations in comparison to other demos to make space, make a play or make a pick and the teams he plays in have the ability and DM to fill in the space he leaves when he dies and follow up on his play, so a strong pocket and scout combo (which he had on Reason). So he's overrated in that people say hes an amazing demo when you compare him to the meta of having a core demo, but hes definitely not when you consider what he does and the team composition he has.
For example, When comparing him to WAR you're comparing to completely different styles of demo. A team will revolve around war and his insane DM and follow up on this dm which is what his team is meant to and will do because theyre used to it, the same applies to a team with kaidus in that they can fill the gap he leaves when he dies going for something, which makes his style viable and good, This is not to say that kaidus doesnt have nutty dm, he does.
This is similar to the situation with pockets today, some use shotgun and some use gunboats. A team using shotgun (AMS) revolves around this combo more (evident in heal %'s of AMS and pocket scout) and follow up this damage, while a team using gunboats on both soldiers tend to revolve around something else like demo DM etc.

tl;dr - Kaidus isnt the core of a team most of the time while other demos are. When comparing them you need to compare team compositions too IMO.
actually i never thought of it this way, and you are right. i was just mentioning that in my opinion i think that he is overrated, not because it doesnt work, because it does, but because its very risky and sometimes unnecessary. on the other side of the spectrum, again in my opinion, i also am not a big fan of mumas playstyle because he is TOO conservative. again its not necessarily a bad thing, because not dying is good, but maybe if he stayed in they would win more fights who knows. fully acknowledging that they are respectively prem and esea champions, its just my opinion that i dont like their styles.
cozeni never got enough credit for how good i was. in my prime (elevate), i had really good movement, calls and aim. every team i was on improved significantly. i was always shadowed by a mixup medic or shade on a banny team.
this isnt an unpopular opinion, most lists of best medics ever i see (including mine) have you in top 5
