FzeroCoffee when you get up?
I hate coffee.
PrototypesWhat grocery store do you work at? I have never heard of a 24/7 grocery store.
It's not 24/7. It closes at midnight, though. Opens when we typically get off.

industWhy don't you just update the pug.na map pool with a new map or 2? Along with updating/removing old versions of maps on there.
I don't think many pugs would be played on an entirely new channel.
I'm not sure why exactly, but something's telling me this channel might work out. I mean it works basically the same as how NMP worked except with one different step, which would be adding up to IRC.
Considering there are a decent amount of people here who use SFM for one reason or another, I thought I would create a thread specifically to inform said users of new SFM updates. Is General Discussion a fine sub-forum for this? If not, a move is fine.
Also before I get into the 0.9.8.1 update, I would like to ask if you think it's a good idea we have a single thread for updates rather than multiple threads? We could create a single thread come next TF2 update, sticky it and post whenever there's a new update. It seems like it would be more convenient. But anyway, here's the update.
Source Filmmaker version 0.9.8.1 has been released. This update will be applied automatically when your Steam client is restarted. The major changes include:
Workshop:
- removed ugc/steamid filename restriction on workshop files - models/jon_smith/props/bucket.mdl is now a valid workshop model name
- added basic filename conflict resolution on downloading workshop files
- fixed unsubscribed from workshop item not removing files if those are the last items
- added UI for updating workshop files (updating artwork and videos is done through the community website)
Scripting:
- updated python to version 2.7.5
- added PySide Qt bindings for Python scripts
- improved Script Editor user interface
- added global scripts menu
Misc:
- added Add/Remove Override Materials menu item to right-click menu on models in the animationset editor
- dragging one animationset onto another now locks all controls in one to all (non-hidden) controls in the other of the same name
- added example playerclass scripts, to make it easier to change the player models (for recording running around as the robot scout, for example)
- fixed bug where UI would appear to let you reorder an animationset between another animationset and its children
- updated tf_movies scout with bodygroups that are in game, and added pack bodygroup
- fixed studiomdl bug when compiling helper bones with or in the vrd
- added latest Team Fortress 2 content
Hey, just noticed Quantic posted in here. You're a cool dude, dude.
Any ideas of when the new pug channel will be set?
Getting up has been sort of a disaster for me lately, even if I sleep for a long enough time. I'm usually pretty groggy and a hot shower helps a bit. I think if I started eating after waking up and not waiting until I get off work to do it, that might help. Energy drinks are poison.
I honestly feel like my body is still getting used to me working. It's been awhile since I've worked so it would make sense, even if it's been ~3 months.
#19 That gun alarm seems perfect. It's only $10 so I'll probably buy it next pay day if I can remember.
x3It might sounds stupid and off the point, but have you considered getting a regular shift of work. (Day? 9-5, 10-6, etc.)
Some people can find it really hard to adapt for the night shift.
I have never personally experienced it, but i know for a fact that i need to have a regular schedule of sleep to keep it going. (midnight-8)
I get paid more with my hours.
Exercising more sounds like it would help me benefit well in a lot of different ways, but I'm not doing worse off physically compared to only a month ago when this wasn't a problem. My body isn't more tired/exhausted from anything either. I'll give it a shot and hopefully it works.
As for an alarm clock, I'll give it a go when I can buy one but it's going to have to wait. I'd rather see if I can find another solution instead of potentially wasting money on something that's never worked for me in the first place
This might end up being tl;dr so you might want to turn back now.
A few months ago I started working a night shift at a grocery store. 10pm to 6am are my usual hours (sometimes getting off at 5 if we get done early, or sometimes I'm scheduled until 4). This requires a complete change in when I go to bed. I have to choose 1 out of 2 options for sleeping. I can either go to sleep basically when I get home or I can wait until 12pm then sleep and be fully rested right before work.
I decided to go to bed at noon. So that was working fine for awhile, then I suddenly start to procrastinate sleeping since I end up not all that tired come noon and end up sleeping at 4pm instead. Sometimes I make an incredibly stupid decision to stay up until around 7, only giving me 2 hours to sleep.
Now it's my day off, okay? I go to bed between 12-4pm. I'm not really that tired but I'm at the point where I can probably fall asleep easily if I wanted to. I wake up, check the time, and then it's suddenly 12-13 hours later. I don't know how this happens. Whenever I go to bed, I'm never usually that tired. I'm not sure why, but if I can fall asleep easy enough then it's fine by me.
The problem is that I oversleep seemingly for no reason, but I also waste half of my day off. I don't wake up feeling energized anymore either. I wake up and I don't feel like shit but it's more of a "meh" feeling.
How can I stop myself from sleeping too much? Alarm clocks do nothing for me and people fail to successfully wake me up whenever I tell them to.
You can't interact with TF2 demos using SFM, if that's what you mean. If you want to make a smooth out of something specific that happened, you then have to either recreate it in SFM and then smooth, or just do the smooth within TF2.
Smoothing in SFM is a little harder to learn and takes a little bit of time, but once you have a complete understanding of how it works and can do it yourself, it's 100% more convenient, easier and definitely better. However, there will be times where it's better to do the smooth in TF2. An example would be that you have a clip of a soldier getting airshot and you want to smooth it. Well, in SFM, you would have to record yourself playing both sides. You would have to record yourself being the soldier that was airshot by jumping and binding a key to "explode", then record yourself as the soldier who hit the shot and pseudo-airshot your recording. The rocket I don't think will explode on contact with your other recorded self, but if it does then great. If not and it passes right through (or really if you just barely miss), you can mask that with particles to make it look like it hit.
Sounds complicated, right? Well, some stuff will be and are better off being done in TF2's smoother. Don't let it get you down. Practice learning how to smooth with both programs and in no time you'll understand why it's a lot better.
tl;dr you can't interact with tf2 demos in sfm. sfm smoothing is a bit harder to learn but in the end is 100% better than smoothing in tf2 on the exception of when you need to smooth something that ends up needing tf2 itself. learn both and profit.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TMKkiZ6fRlQ&hd=1 the intro to this was done completely in SFM. I wish I could go back and fix this intro up (so many problems), but that's whatever. I recreated it almost exactly as what was going on in the demo itself.
Making smooths in SFM is such a better method isn't it, Flippers? :D
DjRoombaSo normal pugs should just be bad if the bot randomly picks bad teams? Seems kind of stupid to me. Scrambling frequently changes nothing, the method to scrambling should be reworked, so that teams are actually different every time a scramble succeeds. Removing scrambling altogether would just have a lot of people unhappy a lot of the time as opposed to having a lot of people happy a lot of the time, or (more likely), having most people happy some/most of the time.
Whenever I see people scramble, it's mostly 3 people thinking the teams are bad and the game will be a roll when either the teams are fine or everyone else thinks the teams are fine. If I remember correctly, people not even in that specific pug can still use the command and scramble teams, but that's another issue with the command. Considering !scramble seems to be the only way to possibly prevent what would otherwise be rolls, albeit there still being a good chance that 1-3 scrambles won't help that much depending on who's added, it should stay until there's a viable solution to the problem.
