#22 Quick-Fix in 6s? in TF2 General Discussion

I'd like to see the QF be as viable as Kritz/UC, but right now that doesn't seem like it's going to happen. I haven't seen much of the LAN yet, but half of what I watched was horrendous, and not just because of the QF.

Going a little off topic here, but I don't understand why we're allowed to use 2 snipers still.

#7 Autoexec not working. in Q/A Help
EdLolingtonmake sure the file extension is actually a .cfg not a text file called autoexec.cfg with .txt hidden at the end

The type of file is CFG like it should be.

#1 Autoexec not working. in Q/A Help

My autoexec won't load when I launch TF2. Executing it through the console doesn't work either. If I try to exec "autoexec.cfg", nothing happens and nothing is said in console as if it worked. When I try to exec "autoexec", without .cfg, it says it couldn't be found. I've tried placing it in the tf folder's cfg folder, I've tried placing it in a cfg folder in /custom/ and I've tried placing it in /custom/ by itself. None of the 3 worked.

Help?

#3 SFM problem, please help. in TF2 General Discussion

Did you click "rescan" after putting those maps into each folder? You usually need to rescan instead of reopening the load map window. Are you looking in the right section in SFM itself?

#331 Origins of Your Name/Alias in Off Topic

I used to go by "NeonUltima" when I played on Pokemon NetBattle back in 2004. If I remember correctly, I chose this because I was a fan of neon colors and Ultima was my favorite move from the Final Fantasy series.

When I first started playing TF2 in '07, I kept going with this name until a day when I was pubbing and ran into YouMustRecover. For some silly reason I assumed his name was a command to the players on his team so I went medic and changed my name to "YouMustDestroy". He introduced me to competitive TF2 soon after and little did I know, having similar names with someone who was even relatively known was a problem. And now any time dchow tries to say something insulting, he brings this up.

So then I had to change my name and seeing as Kirby 64 is one of my favorite games ever, I decided to be unoriginal and name myself Kirby.

#11 Demo Pipes in TF2 General Discussion
the301stspartanKanecoWaldoI think I know why this happens. It's probably the same reason why stickies do more damage if someone is standing directly on top of them then if they're directly above someone, they probably calculate damage based on some arbitrary "center of mass" concept which just so happens to be low on the player model.Exactly, an explosion over the head area will affect a smaller volume of mass than an explosion over the leg, torso area. I didn't know it was calculated like this but it makes perfect sense.
Except the explosion over your head would instantly kill you and the one at your feet not.

If we're talking realistically, being hit by one of those things directly anywhere would kill you. However this is a video game, and especially considering that this is Team Fortress 2, realism is laughable.
