I would prefer POV, but STVs are perfectly fine.
- Try and make sure the submitted demos aren't showcasing plays against teams/players/a skill division that easily allow it. Near your skill level or above is perfect. Adding on to that, I will not accept anything from pubs or lobbies. Scrims, matches and maybe pugs only.
Is this acceptable? Considering I haven't been able to keep up, how are pugs looking? If I do throw in anything from pugs, I want it to be worth it. I'm not sure if tf2mix has a player base to not have to worry about this much or not, and from what I understand, pug.na is still dead until later on in the night.
I'm willing to reconstruct this in order to have the video mixed with what everyone wants and also with what I want in it. A lot of what I posted originally is up for change if enough people agree on someone's suggestion(s).
I find it much more entertaining when a video includes players being able to pull things off against teams that make it more difficult to do so. This will probably make it seem less like a "community video" to some, but it's how I want this to work. Maybe I can make it up to the newer/less experienced players later!
#8 You had me at Mangachu.
#2 You're right. I have changed it to "at least high open".
#3 Upload the demos + .txt file holding the ticks to somewhere and paste the link in this thread. I will edit the post to explain this. Sorry!
Before I get into anything juicy and maybe worth your time reading, I want to write about something for a minute. Feel free to ignore these two paragraphs. It's been 7 months since I've made anything, save the "teaser" for a now dead project. I haven't had much time since then to really work on anything, and as much as it has sucked, it's opened my eyes. Though I may not be able to play competitively anymore until I don't know when, I still want to be a part of this community in some way other than someone who holds onto it through posting on this forum.
Having basically made editing a thing of the past for awhile, it's allowed me to watch these videos, especially mine, simply from the perspective of a viewer. It's helped me remember what it's like to feel entertained from watching them, like I did when watching the YoYoTech and -AA- videos, for example. I've watched over quite a few of the videos I've worked on over the past couple+ years and I can't help but to feel they're missing the whatever it is that makes these other videos entertaining. While I'm happy about the progress I've made and happy with some of the videos I've created, I can't help but to feel like they're not much worth the time to watch for anyone else.
I apologize if this is incredibly cheesy or even a little depressing, but I felt it was necessary to talk about.
With the new recording tool, the extra free time I have now and the motivation I seemed to have been lacking before, I think it's time I make another video. One I can be happy with and one that hopefully can hold its own against the classics and upcoming classics.
Having wasted enough time, let's get to it.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Try and make sure the submitted demos aren't showcasing plays against teams/players/a skill division that easily allow it. Near your skill level or above is perfect. Adding on to that, I will not accept anything from pubs or lobbies. Scrims and matches will be my primary concern. If you send anything from a pug, I'm going to be super picky about it. Highlander is allowed.
- I require users who submit demos to include a .txt file which holds the appropriate ticks for each demo. The format used in the .txt file is completely up to you; make it easy to understand though.
- This is going to 100% be a community video. Please do not come to me and ask for a video for you or your team. When the time comes that I want to make a video for someone or a team exclusively, I'll be more than sure to let you know.
- Please be picky with what you send and fully believe that the ones you submit are the best out of what you have/looked through. I don't want to sift through 5 mediocre plays before I find anything worthwhile.
- Adding on to the requirement above, I would love if I wasn't given any more than 5 demos per person. Given that I want you to give me what you believe to be the very best you have, this shouldn't be too hard.
- Not really a "requirement", but I would prefer POV demos. However, STVs are perfectly fine.
OTHER:
- I'll be choosing the music for this video, so let's not turn half of this thread into music suggestions.
- While I may have more free time to work on a video, this doesn't mean I have a lot of free time. I don't know when this will be finished, so I don't want to give any definitive time and disappoint whoever looks forward to this.
- I had other stuff for this part but I forgot what they were, so in return, I give you this sentence that does absolutely nothing but wastes your time.
UPLOADING + SUBMITTING:
Though there are upload websites I'm more comfortable with, anywhere is perfectly fine for this. Dropbox, Mediafire, MEGA, whatever. Be sure to pack the demos and the text file holding ticks into a .rar file. As for submitting your stuff, you can post them in this thread.
You guys make up an amazing community. Even the people I don't like and the infamous trashlords of this community's past. You help(ed) mold this wonderful community too. While I may not have been the best editor and while I may not have really contributed much for you guys, I want to change that, if even by a little, and hopefully give what an amazing community deserves in the way I know how. Thank you.
for "i can't contain these airshots" saken
not sure why it matters. if someone likes the game or not, then they like/don't like it.
it would probably be less of a problem if it was in off topic
reminds me of an upgraded drakengard

I don't think I'll bother with the beta if pre-ordering is required. I have my hopes up for the game considering who's developing it, but I'd rather be cautious anyway.
hoolii guess b4nny is starting to rub off on her.

ZimmykirbyI'm curious as to why their internet is that bad and don't do anything about it. I guess suckering people into contracts (are there contracts?) and swimming in enough moula would do it.Same thing as every other ISP in the States. No other options available, sou you either go through them or have no internet. Compared to other countries, the United States internet service providers are incredibly awful.
well i technically have comcast w/ ~40 down, but considering my roommates apparently want a collections agency a part of their lives, i have to deal with this dialup wifi i get from someone across the street :V
Having Lauren on medic is a sure-fire way of wanting to kill yourself, so being on the other team is probably more fun anyway
