What would that result in? in the past few years ETF2L has reached out to other leagues for different cooperation projects. In those talks, everyone always sticks to their rulesets and map pool. It's something that defines a league and their own player base has shaped up over the years.
I get what you're saying, but SOP for a league is listen to their own players. Not to the competition.

Not sure if they still do, but ESWC used to be held every year and had lots of different games under 1 roof that people would qualify and play for (their own country if I remember correctly). Even if esports doesn't go to the olympics I'd love to see something like ESWC get more love.

The main thing is to support new projects and events. These things will give people the chance to start with competitive. See the HCC, Archimedes, TF2Lobby, Newbie mixes etc..
This does require people to set those things up, and not just talk about what a cool idea it would be to have them.
So if you have a good idea, find a small team to help you and just give it a go.
