#7 My tf2 is broken af in Q/A Help

psychst4bWiethoofdValidate gamefiles is the first place to start every time, then removing /custom and trying if it happens again.

@RipTide -insecure launch option allows you to load plugins on offline servers/stv/demos
I've tried validating game files, restarting my computer, reinstalling tf2, setting it to -insecure then relaunching it without -insecure, i've tried renaming the sourcemod folder, i've tried updating sourcemod and metamod, i've tried removing custom files and configs and using -autoconfig, i've tried starting it in windowed and fullscreen mode, i've tried all dxlevels, i've tried using a different hud, i've tried using the default hud, i've tried praying, i've tried begging, i've tried everything and it still crashes...

So at this point you're running TF2 without a custom HUD, no sourcemod, the custom / plugins folder removed and it's still crashing?

eeeIsnt there a plugin that automatically looks up etf2l data anyway, like !div or smthn?

Cant that api be used for looking up etf2l names?

There is a caster plugin that replaces the names to ETF2L names from our API, but I don't think the streamer used it tonight.

Edit: If we see players breaking the name rule for prem they will be punished accordingly.

aslAnd one scout limit? That's obviously just so teams are forced to run a class not usually used. With unlocks I think we'd see heavy to mid and shit anyway so it's kinda irrel. It's just restricting team composition options.

Teams will get punished really hard if they rely on heavy to mid. There are so many counters to it, especially in 6s. Restricting teams with 1 scout can be interesting since it forces teams to think outside the cookie cutter composition. In this case the class restriction might be a good thing, especially if teams take it serious because of the prize pool.

Intellectuali completely agree with your points about the weird camera angle choices that ow production uses for streaming

i remember at some point in tftv's production history that a delay was implemented for the stream and the casters, where a production guy had 2 screens: a live spectate and a delayed spectate that was being streamed. by watching fights on the live spectate, the production guy could switch cameras to the best angles on the STREAMED spectate.

often during the overwatch open (the tournament seagull played in this week with his team nrg), the camera would switch to a zenyatta right as he's being killed (the only time support cameras were ever on stream), or an amazing sword from shadowburn that got 3-5 kills would be cut away from to a winston doing nothing (as #108 asl said above).

sure, the overwatch open has a lot of production value with the espn sports desk and a lot of people are working on it (albeit questionable hosts), sure i now enjoy ow over tf2, but tf2 casting production is still real nice and has better analysis, casters, and stream feel than ow.

This applies to EU, but over here TF2 has almost always ran on STV (we don't allow spectators in official matches). Means we always had a delay, and eventually Arie created the cheat feed for all casting orgs so that casters could see what would happen 20 seconds in the future. OW runs on a way different technology but they should be able to implement this easily as its reading log lines from the server.
