Season 13

Last time I played a full season of sixes was season 5.

I want to win main, no second place, no third, no fourth. Only 1st.
I’m only gonna play demo.

Will do whatever necessary to reach that goal!

#1 Transparency with the community [RGL] in TF2 General Discussion

Hello and Good morning, Good Afternoon, Good Evening & Good Night

Communication is one of the most vital skills you can have in our competitive environment along with many other sports within the field. Without communication, you’re losing the means of being able to form connections among colleagues, friends, and family. Within our competitive bubble, you wouldn't have the ability to make a decisive call that breaks a long stalemate, setting a collapse after an über-trade, sending your flank behind to a pinch and the list keeps going.

One thing that RGL could improve on with the player base as a whole is communication. In the past, RGL hasn't elaborated on the tools we use for scheduling, results from surveys, and how they’ll be used effectively for that upcoming season, why restrictions seem to change every other season, how we incorporate/utilize the feedback players give us from meetings and so much more that needs to be touched upon.

Being one of the head-admin of sixes, I want to bridge a path towards better communication between RGL and the general player base. When I was a player before, I'd get frustrated myself because of the lack of communication RGL had whenever things were still being figured out or developed behind the scenes. I do not want the same trend to continue as the year progresses. We may be volunteers, but being a volunteer shouldn't equate to bad leadership or poor communication skills in any matter.

A simple Q&A thread isn't going to address all the problems and concerns people currently have with RGL, nor will it feel genuine to you all who are playing with the league. Plus an article full of FAQs only cover little information.

That being said Arcadia, Camp3r, and Myself (if more people slide through ill add them/update the names here) would like to go in-depth about anything that has to deal with sixes, the tools we use, the decisions that’re brought up go is and how they’re dealt with, how the scheduler works and what precisely is it, what specifically do division admins do, what does a head admin do, how the players can get their voice out there and more.

For this relationship to work between staff and the player base, communication is needed to ensure a path where if a problem or concern does (and it will) present itself it can be talked about constructively, but on a level where it's personal rather than being treated like an individual who's just speaking into the void.

This will be hosted on the RGL’s twitch channel on the 24th of June, time is currently TBD. I'll update it as we talked about it throughout this week.

If you have any questions you want to be answered you can for sure drop them in this thread, since I'll be collecting the questions through TFTV, RGL Fourms, dms’s and more. Only things that won’t be answered are anything to deal with the report committee cases and anti-cheat cases as they are more sensitive to the matter.

Thank you for reading this and I appreciate you all.

#23 Is there a SINGLE reason in TF2 General Discussion
GrapeJuiceIIIjemondThe main point is that this is a plugin that introduces big gameplay modifications and directly nerfs classes in the game.
(If needed to elaborate more we def can)
That’s all fine and good but at the illuminati meeting when I brought it up, all the projectile players said “yes pls add this” and the vibe from the rest of the group was “yeah probably a good change”. I brought it up cuz the euros have been running it and it hasn’t impacted the game.
There is no significant buff or nerf it’s just a straight up consistency improvement. Next season please I beg.

Yeah! I remember talking about it at the meeting. That meeting also happened before camp3r and I got informed on why we haven’t incorporated any of these plugins previously.

bearodactyli have a crazy idea, what if u guys did a New Survey... now that it's been used in eu for many years and not changed gameplay besides quality of life improvements.

I’m 99.9% sure that we’ll discuss it at our meeting this week. If anyone had anything else to add onto such I can bring it up as well!

GrapeJuiceIIIhey jemond hows it going man

It’s been a very sad week man, thanks for asking though.

I did follow through and bring it up during one of our many HA meetings weeks ago.
Reason was pretty clear to ya boy in terms of why it wasn’t implemented in past seasons.

The main point is that this is a plugin that introduces big gameplay modifications and directly nerfs classes in the game.
(If needed to elaborate more we def can)

Also an article was made about it here

We did a poll about it around 2020 as well with the opinions being very mixed.

#26 RunThatBack - NA TF2 Podcast in TF2 General Discussion

Hey All!

We aren’t dead, no waaaaay,

I’ve been doing behind-the-scenes revamping to the website and have been going through the process of moving recently, and let me tell you, THE MOVE IS GOING VERY WELL!!!!!

When we broke out this podcast, I stated in our little trailer that we’d cover Invite, Advanced, and Main. That being said, Invite already has fantastic coverage this season, so it only makes sense to cover Advanced and Main for S12!

Being upfront ya boy doesn't have a day yet for when we drop S2-E1 of the podcast but I have some pseudo-dates for anywhere for May 30-June 1st. I should be fully moved into my new apartment then (hopefully.) other than that whenever we drop the episodes for the summer season!

With that also being said, I'm still deciding whether to do it live or record it and upload it to Spotify/Apple podcasts. ( we get very distracted through live sessions LMAO)

Other than that ill keep this thread updated. Appreciate kind words/feedback from last season! And thank you to if you watched last season!

P.S.

Chocc and I have something stirring for Highlander since that game mode def needs player spotlights

#1 6s Staff Updates and 6s Staff Applications in TF2 General Discussion

6s Staff Updates

Virgil and Walrex will be stepping down from their positions as the 6s Head Admin and 6s Invite Admin respectively.

We would like to thank them for their work and time spent volunteering and wish them the best of luck in their future endeavors. As a result of these staff changes, we are looking for mature, driven individuals who can help us continue to deliver a great platform to ever greater players.

camp3r and je'mond will be promoted to the 6s Head Admin positions.

FAQ

Q: How will two head admins for one format work?
A: camp3r and je'mond will be managing RGL 6s in a joint effort (as co-head admins). This means that they will be working together to help guide the direction and decisions of the format. Communication will play an important role between the two to ensure that decisions are being made together.

Q: Why will there be two new head admins for one format?
A: When determining the candidates for the next 6s Head Admin position, the RGL Head Admin team believed this co-head admin structure would work to allow je'mond to provide his experience with public relations and high-level player relations and camp3r to utilize his experience with internal scheduling and logistics, both which are valuable assets to have as a head administrator.

Q: Will there be different responsibilities between the two head admins?
A: Although both camp3r and je'mond will have shared responsibilities as head admin with most duties overlapping, there will be few differences in the tasks and functions that they will focus their strengths and experience on individually while serving together as an overall team.

For article writeups and season setup (e.g. setting up particular behind-the-scenes details like division organization and match schedules for the regular season and playoffs), camp3r will assist primarily in these areas. These have been historically considered internal areas of work for an admin.

For more public outreaching tasks such as Invite meetings, responding to forums, and managing relations with players, these are the responsibilities that je'mond will be prioritizing.

Both co-Head Admins are qualified to answer questions, make decisions, and provide insight where ever needed. Players are encouraged to approach camp3r and je'mond with particular scenarios that may be better suited for the other to solve. Lastly, we appreciate the patience shown while the RGL 6s team takes on this new endeavor.

RGL 6s Staff Applications

RGL 6s will be opening up division administrator and moderator positions. If you are interested in working to help improve our formats, then we encourage you to apply.

If admin positions are filled, we may contact you to potentially join the staff as a moderator instead.

Experience in these fields is preferred. Feel free to apply again if you have applied for any of these positions and have not received a response or been selected.

If you would like to apply, you can fill out a form where we will go through the submissions and potentially ask for a follow-up. If you have any questions regarding positions feel free to open a ticket in our Discord.
