The issue here is the amount of time you put into making LAN vs what you get out of it isn't equal in the slightest bit.

its very clear that to some people, being good at a small niche part of a fairly popular shooter is actually very important and they get a lot out of it. It isn't losing hundreds of hours if you were having fun.

its dumb that 6 months from now the people who donate from outside of this forum are going to be super skeptical and untrusting and not donating because of something like this. There's like 6 threads on reddit about this, and that does a lot for the publicity of TF2, TF2 charities, and the TF2 community, and none of it is good. like at all. Unless someone that people trust runs the next big thing, and there's like 2 community members that the average player is even aware of, there's a good chance people will avoid donating, especially in items, and that is really really really really sad tbh.
