#13 Attention Twitch Streamers in Off Topic
Sheepylolkounterpartsor you could just not be a pedophiliac
The problem isn't being a pedophile (even though its fucking gross) Having fantasy's about kids doesn't hurt anyone. However actually abusing kids or watching them being abused is what does hurt them. This guy being a pedophile isn't what is wrong, whats wrong is that he acted on it. Watching CP isn't as bad as actually abusing kids for real but if there was no demand for CP and people didn't buy it or watch it then most people would stop making it.

granted the streamer himself had it as a joke (NOTE: I'm going on surface appearances here bc .txt file)...

I really appreciate you writing it like this. Not many people are exposed to this viewpoint, and it's one I find extremely valid. Support groups exist for pedophiles for exactly this purpose, to maintain the safety of children from within.

Interesting topic just by itself, I urge you all to educate yourself on it so that your misconceptions don't end up hurting someone who, if we're being fair, was born like that and can't do anything about it (as of now).

#10 Recent Spotify Update in Off Topic

two things

you can no longer move your mouse to the bottom of the app and be able to quickly scrub
and you can no longer sort some playlists by date added, which is dumb

it's a UI update that killed some essential things

#13 Jeremy Clarkson suspended from the BBC in Off Topic
downpourI can kind of see where a lot of complaints towards Top Gear come from (looking at the list of controversies) but they make fun of EVERYONE in that show, they treat every place with equality.
Kind of dumb really.

There's treating everyone equally in good fun, and then there's generalizing negative stigmas to whole populations, and truly being asshats. There's a place for humor, and there's the mode of thinking that any humor at all is at someone's expense, but for example the Mexico controversy shows pure distasteful, racist humor.

#28 state of pugs in TF2 General Discussion

I'm sorry to piggyback here, but could someone help me: I'm unable to "Find Match" for TF2 pugs (through the ESEA client), and it says "The selected game is currently unsupported."

Am I missing something?

Also, a side question:
are GUI's for an IRC backend possible? As in, I click the class I want to add as and specify other parameters, and then an IRC backend sorts and starts the match? Because that could be the most promising thing, as there is a system for IRC pugs already made, and a frontend that is appealing to the masses shouldn't be too hard to make if it's possible to interface well.

#5 ESEA Invite: eLevate TF2 vs. froyotech in Events

5-2 froyo as well

I think elevate will put up one good fight, but froyo just cracks through things too easily. The two rounds they lose will be quick ones.

I've never hopped in to predict things before, I feel like I'm cannonballing in

#77 1/25/15 New Open teams, how are you doing? in TF2 General Discussion

6DOOBS' season is going rocky. We're the team that couldn't get paid up, and had troubles finding demos.
Anyways, the biggest issue is that currently our demo has no internet. For our match last night, the other team was kind enough to limbo between servers for >30 minutes so we could figure our situation out, and our sub was able to hop in at the last moment. However, he's multipurpose, and certainly on the lower end of demos in Open currently. We all know it, and that's ok. He's our friend, we're happy to have him. We are, however, looking for a demoman, and that's a rough position to be filling halfway into existence with the team.

However, we won our match last night, and are looking forward to moving into the next week's map.

Scrimming has been tough to organize, especially with a few players being on Highlander. I'm a bit of an ass when it comes to that, and it still doesn't make sense to me why Highlander is viewed as more important to 6s to some members of the team. It comes off as lack of dedication to an extent, considering we've had a similar roster for the past 3 seasons. I understand it can be planned around, and I understand people want to dedicate some time so it can be more fun when they're playing matches, but: I think 6s scrim time is much more important for building better play than the pub experience on steroids scrims. Please read that on the constraint that it is a problem if and only if the player is splitting time between 6s and HL. If anyone has any suggestions for me, please, shoot.

Aside from that, I would say our game has improved drastically over the past few weeks. It may just be that by now we've caught a feeling for each others' play, because I would agree that it isn't the paid league factor that got us to focus harder. It's the dedication, in my eyes, and it is truly something that boosts morale across the team. We raise each other up with it.

Re: Scrims - we are down to take pretty much everyone in scrims, as we feel both losing by a nice margin, and winning by a nice margin, can be helpful to both us and the other team. Generally, either Simplicity or Zairuen (Zren) will be in IRC looking for scrims Tuesday-Thursday nights, 9-11pm EST. We're definitely looking for consistent scrim partners around the same level, and not only that, but we hope to foster a learning attitude among both teams (i.e. the willingness to rerun mids, or play two scrims with the same team).

Good luck everyone! We won't be seeing you in playoffs, but I hope our encounters are enjoyable and fun for all, and may your season of Open have been worth it
