#257 Cheater/Hacker thread in TF2 General Discussion

The cheaters sure are busy today, but thats ok, I'm here ready to catch them! :)

A friend actually linked me to this lobby and said they were a little suspicious of this guy. I launched a small investigation. I usually review a few past logs, look for very high kill counts, very high DPM, very high accuracy etc. In this case I found some lobbies with extremely high DPM, then I went back a few pages and found the guy was complete garbage a few months ago. Doing like 3 kills to 20 deaths in a HL lobby as a heavy.

It just didn't add up. A lobby example of his extremely high DPM: http://logs.tf/756645?highlight=76561198143559320

After that I went to his tf2 ranking profile and noticed something interesting: http://beta.tf2playerrankings.com/profile/76561198143559320?source=tf2center

If you look there under the sniper section you will see that in the first 20 or so logs, he averaged right around 200 DPM on sniper. Then after log number 22 or so his performance skyrockets, and you see a 900 DPM game, followed by an 800 DPM then a 400, 800 and a 500 DPM game. I knew at this point this was a clear indicator of cheats being used for the first time to enhance his sniping ability.

At that point I found the STV for the lobby that my friend originally linked me to: http://logs.tf/773652?highlight=76561198143559320

Sizziling Stats with STV here: http://sizzlingstats.com/stats/363399

I reviewed that, and it was very very clear that he was wallhacking/esp hacking. He spent almost half the game tracking people through walls while scoped in.

With the amount of headshots he was hitting, its also obvious that he was using aim assist (likely small fov aimbot).

DoctorMiggyThat's called Silent Aimbot
There's quite a handful of players suspected of using it but not to that extreme.

Yes I'm aware, the most popular hacking program calls it Silent Aim+ or something like that (according to a guy I caught hacking that gave me some info on it). If you suspect someone of using it, review some STV's, and also pay attention to accuracy stats to see if they are frequently higher than known accuracy averages for high level players (e.g. 40-45 or so for snipers, 70-75 or so for scouts).

#255 Cheater/Hacker thread in TF2 General Discussion

Caught another cheater tonight. Joined a HL upward lobby with Polk and a couple other friends. After getting consistently sniped by the enemy sniper who had 1900 hours and 0 lobbies on TF2C, we noticed he had over 75 points and the rest of his team had <25 points. Polk mentioned he was fishy in a 6's lobby sniping the whole lobby and hitting everything. We figured he had to be cheating, so we repped him on TF2C and got rid of him.

Then after the lobby was over, I investigated him a little further and noticed a twitch link on his profile.... The first video i watched of him, you could see the name of his hack program on the top of the screen right after he launched TF2. He immediately covered it over with the server list browser.

Name: ^ESS^ Graiser

Current Steam Profile Link: http://steamcommunity.com/id/Meticulouss/

STEAM_0:1:50215401

Lobby we caught him cheating in http://logs.tf/774187 (He was kicked after about 10 minutes, which is why his DPM is 377. His actual DPM is more around 1000.

It's great to catch this guy so quickly after only his second lobby on TF2C! I already filed a ban report there.

BSPEdollarlayer And we have yet another cheater I caught yesterday on TF2C. current name: polar: http://steamcommunity.com/id/softmilkyass/

STEAM_0:1:56018404

I played with polar on 9 April, and the lobby host kicked him after the tick below. I immediately posted a ban request on TF2C forums and haven't heard back, although it has been viewed by admins 5 times. After I said something to him in the main chat he privated his profile. His friend "strugglesnuggle" (http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198040082872) insisted he just has a good flick.

http://sizzlingstats.com/stats/361188
tick 38500

He must have slipped up and turned it to 11.

Thanks for that. It appears he expanded his aimbot fov from the normal <5 degrees to something wild like maybe 30-90 degrees or so. I actually made a short youtube clip showing this guy in action. I may start doing more of these, as its fairly quick and easy (no editing involved).

Here is the clip:

@ 89zombiez

Good catch. Not seen any STV footage but seems obvious enough.

Also the guy is friends with http://steamcommunity.com/id/13370588

General Logical Sloth, you reported him earlier in the thread..... It was really obvious I already reported him on TF2C, and I think I posted about him a few pages back. Heck could even be an alt of General Logical Sloth. They are both bronies...

And we have yet another cheater I caught yesterday on TF2C. current name: polar: http://steamcommunity.com/id/softmilkyass/

STEAM_0:1:56018404

Last night in a gullywash 6's lobby, when he hit every single shot he fired (it seemed) in pre-game, I already new something was up. And told my team to watch out for him. As we continued playing it was even more apparent that he was aim hacking.

Here is one of the lobbies he played yesterday. http://logs.tf/760926?highlight=76561198072302537

1105 DPM as sniper, almost 4x as many kills as the 2nd top fragging player on his team. But no I'm not just calling him out just based off that alone. I watched 3 STV's of him. Some are more blatant than others.

http://logs.tf/761565?highlight=76561198072302537

That lobby there, 64% sniper accuracy. That log corresponds to this sizziling stats log and you can review the STV: http://sizzlingstats.com/stats/361272

He starts off as spy. Fail stabs multiple times but lands nearly every single amby shot, even from across the map. Then when he goes sniper its pretty ridiculous. He always seems to know where the enemy sniper is going to be, and is always waiting for him (likely walls/esp). His gamesense is almost non-existent. He consistently puts himself in dumb places, because he is overly confident with his aim (he's cheating after all).

Have a look at his TF2C stats also. http://beta.tf2playerrankings.com/profile/76561198072302537?source=tf2center

Go to the sniper section. I believe he started hacking fairly recently... His DPM on sniper average has gone through the roof in multiple logs lately with 500-1100 DPM logs. This guy has averaged only 227 DPM on sniper and a 1.22 KD, then all the sudden he is goldlike!

shruggerohhh mine don't work because i have a botkiller scattergun. edit: wait, I can't find it on ANY players, wtf. I see how it looks in the screenshot but it just doesn't show for me.

Only maybe 20% of servers have accuracy stats enabled by default. It doesn't apply to all weapons. (minigun and spy revolvers don't seem to be recorded and pyro flare guns are completely inaccurate). Here are a few of your recent games played with accuracy stats. As mentioned previously, hover over the scout icon and look under "Acc." Be careful not to be confused with DA %, that is just the % damage done with that weapon.

http://logs.tf/724500?highlight=76561198006029593

-----------------

We should really encourage tf2pug.me to enable it by default. And for those of you that own servers, as long as you have all the right plugins installed for logs.tf extended stats (like supstats and medstats i think) then enable rcon tftrue_logs_accuracy 1, which will allow accuracy stats to be recorded.

kKaltUuNo need for that

Can you elaborate? I actually reviewed the one demo I found of him, a pl_upward game yesterday before you replied. http://sizzlingstats.com/stats/359592

After watching that I can confirm he is using ESP/Wallhack to know where other players are, particularly the enemy sniper. His first kill on the enemy sniper, the sniper was literally not even visible when he fired and headshot the sniper. I slowed the STV down to 10%. I enabled r_drawothermodels 2 and could see him tracking and waiting for the sniper to peek. Also the amount of crazy headshots coupled with his high accuracy stats, I can guarantee he's also using a triggerbot or small fov aimbot.

CHERRYOh, I cannot into an UGC then!

The engrish is real!

Tycho hasn't been a problem for a while now.

For everyone on page 6/7, if you think someone is cheating, and link to logs; please link to a TF2C lobby log. I can dig up a lot more evidence than just accuracy stats.
if you're willing to then maybe you could take a look at either of these (or both)
http://logs.tf/752020?highlight=76561198016746867
http://logs.tf/751938?highlight=76561198016746867

Those stats are a little hard to believe.... Several logs in the 55-77% range for accuracy on sniper.

Accuracy logs on the first page of his logs.tf profille for sniper:

63%

68%

63%

62%

55%

61%

69%

77%

No logs under 50% ever. Average overall accuracy for page one of logs.tf = 65%.

Anyone review any STV's of him yet? I'll try to hunt for some later...

devamar_10Hey i don't know if i missed something but scout who is still playing on tf2center and he was apparently proved not guilty of hacking, if someone could update me on that, it would be awesome.

I never submitted a ban report for him on TF2C, as I had 2 pending reports that I had never heard a word about, but now I hear a couple of those ban requests were processed.

The funny thing about scout who/seven is that after the call out thread he basically has not been playing sniper at all. Before he would roam for a few minutes of the game and snipe the rest. He also went private profile and changed his name. I think he knows he's guilty, and maybe he has changed his ways or turned off his cheats lately. Some of the logs of him lately are nothing impressive.

Also AFAIK UGC doesn't really ever ban trigger botters/small fov aimbotters as the game play may appear "legit" for the most part. You have to be super obvious (e.g. lock on aimbot, tracking people through walls etc.)

I'll try to submit a ban report for him soon, I'll just need to review some more STV's and write down specific tick numbers.

MumaSince when is 75%+ accuracy fishy? I'm not trying to defend cheaters, but I'm actually confused. Just from pulling up some of my team's last stats before the end of our season, many top IM scouts are hitting accuracy that high. For example Sezco, a proven LAN Scout. How does 75%+ accuracy confirm that you're cheating? It's not uncommon for me to see Scouts hitting that high.

Edit: I suppose that makes sense. Thanks for the clarification Kaptain.

75% accuracy on scout is not fishy. It's on the very high end of what good scouts can get. 75% accuracy on sniper across a decent sample size though is bullshit. For scout, multiple logs much over 80% is where it starts to get fishy. And logs in the 90's are most certainly hacks/cheats in a normal lobby/match environment.

I would consider myself to be an okay scout, and I would say I average around 70% on scout. Some games I'll get as low as 62% or so, and my highest to date is 82% (however that game was a total roll and there were a couple afk/still players killed).

zenWouldn't say 75%+ accuracy on sniper is fishy either. Played a few times against kensi and he got really high accuracy on sniper quite a few times. I could imagine Dennia does the same, since he just charges a shot and never shoots unless he gets a 150 dmg bodyshot :D

If they are almost all body shots 75% would be possible I suppose for a good sniper. But if they are hitting lots of headshots, than 75%+ almost certainly means aim assist cheating.

-----------

Also remember there are many levels of aimbot/aim assist. Trigger bots, and aimbots with small fov. I've seen hackers/cheaters get as low as 45-50% accuracy.

---------------------

I just got a new STV of Tycho. I know we already basically proved he was hacking, however this new STV has several ticks that are as obvious as it gets. https://www.dropbox.com/s/p8juwztf2unpdlu/20150325-0054-cp_process_final.zip?dl=0

Around Tick 27K you can see super obvious tracking the scout through the wall. Enable r_drawothermodels 2

Then around Tick 53K you can see the most ridiculous lock on aimbot shot all game. He must have turned on like full on aimbot for that player target the scout that was giving him problems. His crosshair goes from people above process mid and snaps within a fraction of a second to a scout and headshots him instantly. I stopped watching after that. That's the first time in a long time I've seen lock on aimbot used.

LaMqTaHere is my soap_off.cfg file:
sm plugins unload_all
sm plugins load_unlock
sm plugins load basebans.smx
sm plugins load basecommands.smx

Thanks, so if I understand correctly, first you are unloading all plugins. Then you are loading all other plugins you want with the exception of soap. So I assume If i want other active plugins I'd list them myself in sm plugins load ----------.smx right? Sounds like making a soap_off.cfg file will be the way to go...

#176 Cheater/Hacker thread in TF2 General Discussion
JunktronHello I think I'd like to shed some light on another possible hacker or cheater.
http://logs.tf/profile/76561198016746867
http://steamcommunity.com/id/aridraconia/
http://www.ugcleague.com/players_page.cfm?player_id=76561198016746867
Has a VAC ban.
He is EXTREMELY fishy. From the logs that have a extended stats and accuracy stats, as sniper he has 60/60+ accuracy all the time

http://logs.tf/655060?highlight=76561198016746867
In this one he even as a 71 acc.

Compare that to a plat sniper like phaze who at his prime recently http://logs.tf/753100?highlight=76561197991974946 had only 52 acc.
We could take a look at a few others too http://logs.tf/753032?highlight=76561197990876261
Most plat sniper averaging around 30 to 50 (on their best day) acc.

Also he is not just some random person who I found becomes he looked fishy. I've know him for about 2 years maybe. When I used to talk to him and play with him he was around a group of people who had downloaded triggerbots, aimbots, and screwed around on alts. I used to play with him on a trade server, and even though it was a trade server and obviously not taken too seriously, his performance wasn't outstanding. Another thing is that he did play on my S11 Iron HL Team. He played soldier the 1st week (wasn't that great), and quit. Now he plays silver HL sniper going toe-to-toe with high silver/low gold snipers.

I could be wrong about all of this but I thought I'd give it a try anyway, cheers.

http://logs.tf/638237?highlight=76561198016746867

Good catch. 77% accuracy in that log. No doubt about it he's cheating

swagmachinehttp://logs.tf/profile/76561198058402566

Another cheater not many accuracy stats from him, but found a couple sniper logs with 70%+ and scout 80%+.

-------------------------------

I would encourage both of you to try to find an STV through sizziling stats. Download it and review it, and then submit a ban request to TF2C or any other leagues they play in.

ZestyI wouldn't go off single logs alone- long term averages are fine but you can have ridiculous games. Also logs sometimes fuck up and give you weird numbers. Pretty sure Ive had a log with 1600 dpm on scout and one with 120% accuracy on sniper. If someone is getting these numbers every game though it's worth looking into.

Yes, reference multiple logs. And also look at other players stats. For example if the other 3 scouts in the game are in the 50-70% range, and another scout is at 95% sure, you can be pretty damn sure the 95% guy is hacking. And I have seen multiple lobbies where DPM is off. DPM by itself shouldn't really be used to determine if someone is cheating. Some matches glitch out and you see everyones DPM is doubled. I had a couple games last week where somehow everyone managed negative DPM, and the lobby lasted like negative 20 minutes. :P I've never seen any hitscan accuracy logs that I felt were inaccurate. The one stat that is a joke is flares. It's common to see 600% accuracy, I believe due to it counting damage done per tick. So if someone takes 10 ticks of damage and you fired 2 flares, then you did 500% accuracy from a flare.
