Youve basically nailed the descriptions of both. I find both generally sound great in all cases, I just prefer the 558s for most non-EDM music.
Personally, if you have the money I would say go for the 558s, but if you want to save a little bit go for the m50s

Likely a combination of laws (which make it hard or expensive to get in the area) and the fact most telecomm companies have (probably illegal) agreements to let each other have monopolies in certain areas so they all benefit.
If I feel like I need something on, AH.FM or white noise.

Personally I'd say 42 is a bit high, but it depends what you can be comfortable with
Anti-aliasing is an ingame setting (See this video). He's saying, try turning it on in game and make sure you still get a stable 120 fps. Without anti-aliasing the game may look bad on a 32 tv @ 1080p.
