Disregard #3. Play MGE until you literally burn yourself out from caring too much. Unbind your PTT key in game and your chat keys while playing, and don't be second guessing yourself. Keep your own practice routine, start playing a little bit everyday and over some time you'll start to see improvement in your DM. Take what you've improved into #tf2.pug, Newbie-Mixes are getting a bit better, coaches are pretty helpful as long as you just listen. Start making mistakes and get yelled at. Don't ever retaliate when somebody gives you advice.

I don't think TF2 is going to be there, according to Hamstar. LANs have been a ton of fun each time I've gone though. I'd be interested in participating in some other games they have going on.
