#29 New Keyboard in Hardware
huhyGoing to hijack your thread, so I don't have to create a new one.

I am thinking of getting the CM Storm Quickfire Rapid Black Switch keyboard. What are your thoughts?

i personally love black switches people said they tire your hands out but i havent had any problems with finger fatigue they are a stiffer switch but that makes double tapping and such much easier cause they keys are very elastic

Yankeed0m3rit really not just a feeling their more responsive the anti-ghosting and nkey roll over are all very nice things plus they will last you forever there pricey cause they aren't cheap to make like your average membrane keyboard
i could probably beat someone to death with my unicomp ultraclassic and have it still be functional. that thing's a tank

i was gonna get the uni classic but i found this black switch keyboard for cheaper so i got it

raikuMaybe I over exaggerated, but the money difference is to big in my book for a little better of a 'feeling'.

WaldoI prefer buckling spring keyboards over all others, an '89 IBM model M has got to be my favorite keyboard I've ever used, but MX Blues are the closest you get to that. I don't see why people say they're bad for gaming, I find it nice that I can hear/feel the activation point. The only real problem is that they're loud, which some people don't like.

Limbod0m3ri got this about 2 weeks ago and i love it great buy a bit higher than your price range but its a mechanical and works like a charm

edit i forgot the link http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16823162015

This was my first mechanical keyboard, and for gaming its great, but if you type a lot I would look elsewhere. The keyboard has a shortened backspace button (it's shortened to the size of a regular key) it may seem like a small thing but I used the keyboard for months and couldn't get used to it. There is other small changes as well but that was really the main one that threw me off. Also its more of a preference thing but blacks wore out my fingers pretty quickly when I had to write essays and stuff. I upgraded to a Daskeyboard Model S Ultimate with browns and I'm really enjoying it. As for a suggestion, I can't really give much as I'm not too familiar with keyboards in your price range. If you are really strapped for cash and want a mechanical keyboard monoprice has the cheapest one I've seen: http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=114&cp_id=11401&cs_id=1140102&p_id=9433&seq=1&format=2
Its not back-lit or whatever but its still mechanical which is nice.

edit: this seems to fit your wishlist, although somebody has probably already suggested it: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16823109191&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=6146836&SID=bhtxjqdnu4nu

ive gotten pretty used to it at this point i really enjoy the blacks ive gotten 0 finger fatigue but as you said its all preference
