#1 applying thermal paste in Hardware

So apparently anytime you remove your heat sink and fan you should always re-apply thermal paste (which I didn't, realizing it considering I see my temps)

I plan on using arctic MX-4 but is any thermal paste good?

and what method should I spread it, do I use the dot method, and just leave it there (not spread it myself)
or the line method? what's best

#1 resolution and hertz in Q/A Help

So, my monitor is a 144hz

lets say I wanted to play tf2 at 1600x900@120hz

do I have to set my desktop to 1600x900@120hz and launch tf2, or is there some way I can do that via the launch options?

#13 NFL Playoffs in Off Topic

Patriots are going back to the Super-Bowl. Either against Seattle or Dallas, rooting for Dallas as they are undefeated on the road, would make a real interesting NFC championship game.

Patriots vs Dallas super bowl, patriots win the super-bowl.

#1 monitor display in Hardware

is there a way to move my monitor display horizontally to the left?

I use a 1024x768 res, with black bars on the side, and I'd prefer if the screen was moved to the left, to cover 1 black bar, leaving the other black bar on the right side exposed.

But when I use the positioning on my monitor, it doesnt move the screen, it moves it behind the black bar.

Anyway for it to not do that?

#5 skybox changing in Customization
phAZEI used the Source Recording tool one day and was screwing around with the different skybox options. I changed it, and stuck in game as I never bothered to revert it.

Here's the link:

http://sourceforge.net/projects/sourcerecordingtool/

Go to the skybox options, change the skybox and launch the tool. For me, once I closed the tool the skybox option stuck with the game forever. I don't know if it's because I didn't make some configs read only or something or what but it stuck.

so launch the game with the tool, then just quit the tool while the game is still launched? do I have to put the tool in a certain directory?

http://www.twitch.tv/phazetf2/b/591826941

Notice how the skybox is different, while playing

I know you can use Lawena, but that isn't playing the game really.

How do you get it to play with the different skybox, or change the skybox at all? I'm confused.

Stochast1ccrazybeaniegroovenStochast1cFrom the dodbits linkThe standard file only has one setting, the custom file above has 5 and will cope with small screens from 480 high up to 6000 high.
So if you want different font sizes when using net_graphproportionalfont 1 then it looks like you need to add that bit to sourcescheme.

add what bit to sourcescheme?

read the dodbit link

so what he put, add that into sourcescheme? cause I dont want my net-graph smaller and compressed like he has it, I want it spread out, like in the images I linked above.

takramcrazybeaniegroovenSo its using a larger font on a higher resolution for the net graph then?

I'm trying to make the larger font display for the smaller resolution.

sourcescheme.res find "DefaultFixedOutline" and adjust the values you see fit according to the range your "yres" falls under. I use Microsoft Sans Serif with outline, 13 tall for 768-1023 yres, 14 tall for 1024-1199

but thats with the sourcescheme f_blue linked, which just compresses it into the corner,

the pics I linked, thats without the sourcescheme so isnt that in default tf2?
