#9 ping spikes in Q/A Help

Does QoS affect the other people in the household by not giving them internet connection at all? Because my current router doesnt have QoS, so I guess I'll just switch back to my old router.

But I'd like to know how QoS works so I don't have even more problems.

#1 ping spikes in Q/A Help

Hey, I have a question about wireless routers and ping spikes.

Can the amount of connected WIFI devices connected influence ping spikes?

During the day and morning my ping is fine, however during the evenings and late night, my ping just constantly spikes from 50-300.

I noticed during the night there is like 6 devices connected to my wifi, while during the day and morning, its only like 3 devices connected to the wifi.

Can that be a problem or no? Maybe theres a limit on my router to how many wireless devices can connect?

#1 Netflix and Ping in Hardware

I was wondering if its Netflix that's actually doing the ping rises for my game.

I have another roommate who watches Netflix on his laptop, but he connects though the wifi to our router.

My pings been spiking lately from like 20-90 then from 20-150 sometimes. I'm wondering is it Netflix that's causing it? or something else?

#1 lod bias csgo in CSGO General Discussion

I know the LOD bias thing works with tf2, but for me it does not work for CSGO.

I have a gtx970, so nvidia, I tried using the inspector but it just resets to 0 everytime I launch.

Did they fix it? is there a workaround?

#1 GPU idle temp in Hardware

So my MSI GTX 970 is idling @ around 58 celsius, which is kinda high.

my cpu idle temps are fine, its just my gpu.

I run 2 monitors, 1@144hz DVI and another @60hz HDMI.

Is there something wrong? do I have to increase the fan speed? is that even considered normal? just to keep me out of worrying.

thanks.

#1 compressing files in Hardware

I had to backup a friends images and files which I was able to zip up into 2 12gb winrar archives.

Thing is, it'll take years to upload that and put it on a disc.

Is there a way to compress these files so its easier to upload to a site like dropbox or google drive?
