#3456 Show your HUD modifications! in Customization

Hey guys, don't mean to be a nusance, as i'm not sure if this belongs here, but I was looking for the HUD that stacks the ammo sort of like gmang hud. I believe platinum was using a hud that looked sort of what i want at lan, but not quite sure. Anyone know of such a hud?

#31 Free Community College for Two Years in Off Topic

I think this idea is pretty good, as it does directly affect a lot of people, but there's going to be a lot of resistance from Republicans. I'd be nice if the Republicans create a counter-proposal and maybe try to meet in the middle, but this is politics, so I'm not expecting much.

One thing a lot of people don't understand is that a lot of people don't have to go to college to find professions they like. Trades/Apprenticeships have actually become more popular in the past ten years or since the 50's. And they work too.

Is there any chance this will be ready for the upcoming ESEA season? Or is it still pretty far off of being finished?

For $600, you're going to have a hard time finding a system that runs TF2 well, or even decent. May I suggest something like the Lenovo Y40 for $670 after rebates?

#49 eXtv-Vlog: The Future in TF2 General Discussion

Oh, forgot to mention: whoever picked the name of the EU show-matches "Valve's game", that makes the whole idea sound so sarcastic and whiny.

#32 eXtv-Vlog: The Future in TF2 General Discussion

I agree with Bloodsire. We need to strike a balance between what Valve would like to see out of TF2 and what we as community would like to see out of TF2. We want to see 6s become an extremely popular competitive scene, but I don't see that happening. Highlander has the potential, as it is a lot closer to what a pub is like, but a lot of people accuse that format of being too casual and far too random. I like the 5v5 format idea, but Arena Respawn is not a good idea. It isn't fun to watch, and many of the higher comp players felt like it wasn't as fun as 6s.

The funny thing about CS is that many of the same weapons are used, but is has a bit more variation than TF2 does, with each individual 6s class having assigned roles and standard weapon formats, with the only variations being a demo or a soldier using the pain train and the medic using a kritz instead of uber.

If we want Valve to support competitive TF2, I think 5s with less strict weapon bans would be ideal. One medic, one demo, one soldier, one scout, and one wild card (sniper, another scout, another solider, pyro?) would be a great format. Obviously OP weapons like the gunslinger, short circuit, or the GRU should be banned, but we should include weapons like the BBB or the pocket pistol, which would have the obvious pyro counter. These weapons help increase variety, randomness, and not a 16-0 team and a team with no wins at all. It's really saddening when there's so little randomness to 6s that a team goes undefeated. Including stupid items in the game shows Valve how little they would be used in comp anyway, showing they need some kind of a buff.

#8 sony/north korea hack v2 in Off Topic

I'm willing to bet that North Korea did not hack Sony. It was probably an insider job. The only proof existing against North Korea is that the malware used revealed links to other malware developed by North Korean hackers.
The fact is that the IP addresses all over the world were used during the hack, the hackers didn't even mention anything about The Interview after the hack until the media made a huge deal about it, and the hackers dumped all of the data. Why would a state that understands propaganda so well throw away such a massive amount of information?
The FBI is taking evidence just on the surface of the problem and assuming the worst - that North Korea hacked Sony to prevent a film about their leader being assassinated from being shown. I expect better out of the FBI, more evidence is needed before any finger pointing is done.
Rant incoming.
Oh, and just because North Korea's internet was down after Sony announced they would pull The Interview from theaters doesn't mean this is the United States seeking retaliation. North Korea has 24 IPs. DDoSing their internet wouldn't be that difficult, and could have been conducted by any novice hacker.
And the whole thing with Lizard Squad hacking Sony and Microsoft so that people couldn't use their new console they received for Christmas, that's just bogus. They claimed it was just to bring awareness to show that these companies have limited security, but it was just one big middle finger to the average citizen. They even went on claiming they could have hacked Wall Street and the White House. Their twitter page is full of threats.
I don't even get the whole hacking thing either, there's better ways to make your point than shut down someone's "weak" system. Any system can be hacked if you throw enough at it. These people are terrorists, not in the traditional way we think of, but something needs to be done about these guys. Maybe it would be better if the media just ignored them as a whole.
TL;DR: I don't think North Korea hacked Sony. It's just a jerk reaction by the FBI, and I'm sure the United States did not hack North Korea back. Groups like Lizard Squad are terrorizing companies and citizens, and it should be stopped immediately.
