99% of occurrences of comic book characters explaining or displaying their political/social ideologies is writers either pushing personal agenda or pandering to current political trends/events.
which means when a character has major arcs written by umpteen different writers over the course of 78 years (his anniversary is in 3 days apparently) it becomes a giant mess of soapboxing that is pointless to consider as a whole
