#16 Is it me or has there been a lack of mentors? in TF2 General Discussion

I think mentors are too common now if anything. Everyone I’ve talked to from whatever shit pugs or teams I’ve rung for has gone and found a mentor seemingly just so they can namedrop them to avoid criticism (“yea I know that’s an issue but I’ve been working with my [two divs above mine] mentor on it”/“actually my [two divs above mine] mentor told me it was smart to do that”/etc)

It seems like 95% of people with “mentors” don’t improve at all from it and don’t understand what the point of it is. They just want to get sandblast to waste his time reviewing their demo so they can say they’re getting mentored by an invite scout. I also don’t think anyone who started playing after 2016 actually knows how to just watch their own demos.

#7 INTRODUCING MGE TRAINING ENHANCED V17 in The Dumpster
WakaFlockaHello guys It's Waka Flocka Flame—many of you guys have seen me around in pretty much all MGE servers.

MGE was created in 2013. So that's 7 years of MGE on the same map. We're humans, so we get bored of playing the same map over and over again. We are long overdue for a new MGE map.

Ladies and gentlemen let me introduce you to MGE TRAINING ENHANCED V17.

(Before I describe the new details/maps I'd just like to say if for whatever reason you hate/dislike the map you still have to respect the fact that I worked my ass off in order to achieve this. Mapping isn't easy—I put a lot of time and effort into this project.)

So the reason I called it enhanced is because not only are there new maps, there's extended versions of the original maps. We'll start off with some basics:
  • Granary Middle now has two new rooms—one on the red side and one on the blue side, plus some stairs to get onto catwalk. You don't have to worry about rocket jumping just to get there anymore, anyone can just take the stairs now.
  • Granary Last the garage that was closed in the corner is now opened—inside are a bunch of props + a window seeing outside.
  • Spire now has an opening that takes you to the concrete upper platform.
  • Process Middle has those tiny rooms opened on both sides now.
  • Gullywash those fences under the point are also opened on both sides.
  • Badlands Middle? I'm not gonna spoil that in this thread. Watch the video to see what I have done with that map.

A lot of people are gonna hate me for these changes, but they'll also love me.

Moving onto the 3 new MGE maps. I'm not sure if you guys noticed, but for 7 years in every map built, not a single mapper thought about water. Water is extremely important—its 75% of the human body—but it's alright, I finally made a beautiful ocean map with nice blue water (plus it has 2 waterfalls). BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE! There are even sharks that swim in the water! They'll bite you, too, so good luck dodging the sharks plus fighting your opponent. Not to mention that in 2v2 and 3v3 things really really start to get interesting.

Moving onto the 2 most played maps in TF2: Turbine and 2Fort. Imagine MGE versions of that. No more imagining, I added both in this new map! Of course it's not the entire map—MGE edition 2Fort has stairs in the water that take you back up to the ground level, and additional stairs taking you on top of the roof. Turbine is also implemented, and this time you get to jump on top of catwalk.

Anyways, it was a long journey for all of this to happen. Shout out to all the homies that helped out (credits are in the video). Watch the video to see how the map looks in game.
