#39 first day at school/upcoming first day? in Off Topic
-protowtf is summer work? do you have to do school shit during summer? fuck that

In Maryland schools,(idk about other states/countries) you can sign for advanced placement classes, that have double the credits(and being considerably harder) and looks great on your college application. Most of these classes require work during summer to be done.

#135 Rap you like in Off Topic
SpaceCadetAll current rap is terrible. No artist stands out at all. Rap used to tell a story where the lyrics alone would take you into the artist's world and mindset. It happens very rarely today if at all.

Today's rap is all about marketing and the shock value of an artist to generate buzz and sales. The things artists do OUTSIDE of the music is many times more important to sales than the actual music.

#46 Let's talk Ferguson in Off Topic
WariThe encounter with the officer has swung a lot of ways as new information is uncovered. The autopsy revealed that there were around 6 shots near his arms and at the top of the head. The way I've heard this interpreted is that Brown charged at the officer, so the shooting is looking a bit more justified (I'd wait for more information).

If someone was charging at me(unarmed) I doubt I would shoot six times, let alone at the upper body. I don't think 'justified' is the right word to use, just yet.

RoyceAm I the only one that thinks its kind of cool that cops can harass, assault, and murder people with no accountability whatsoever? We're just a few short steps away from Mad Max. That's rad.

i'm guessing you're not black

#32 Let's talk Ferguson in Off Topic
SpaceCadetFor myself, I will wait for when the media can repeatedly report on the same outrage when a black person kills a white person. When was the last time you seen that reported on international news and had the president involved? Take your time to look it up, I am not going to hold my breath. Maybe its because we don't use every incident like this to riot.

You are creating a false equivalency here - simplifying the situation. It was not just a 'white' man that killed an African American boy, it was a white police officer(serve and protect?). And keep in mind, this has been going on for decades, black communities with the presence of predominately white cops. I don't have to tell you the whole 'fuck the police' era wasn't because blacks weren't too fond of being caught, it's because blacks are 3x more likely to harassed and unfairly searched by the police, just due to skin color and surrounding stereotypes. It becomes tiring so to speak, when you have a sort of distinct oppressor, in this case, white police.

Now, when a black person kills a white person guess what happens? They go to jail. The only reason this is a huge issue, is because WE KNOW the policeman in question won't go to jail, because they NEVER go to jail. Let alone a severe punishment. Just like the case of Trayvon Martin - It was only an issue because he was killed, but the killer got away, with barely any legal repercussions.

Once again, a black person did kill a white person and there was outrage, it's called the O.J. Simpson trial. Same situation, the killer got away.

There was also the murder of Eric Garner, a black man who broke up a fight then was choked to death by the police, then there was Ezell Ford, a reportedly mentally ill black man who was gunned down by the cops(few days after ferguson shooting). The only difference in these cases is that there was no protest. Which is the main reason the Michael Brown murder is huge news.

#18 Let's talk Ferguson in Off Topic

As far as I know, the police offer in question had no knowledge of the robbery committed by Brown. So in this case, bringing up the robbery is somewhat of a distraction. Being African American, I can easily see why people of my ethnicity can be compelled to view this a racially motivated crime, as we have dealt and felt racism almost daily, whether it be on the internet, or feeling strangely singled out when a police car drives down a street. If the killing is racially compelled, we do not know, and we may never know.

Psychologically, African-Americans are more likely to feel that this was racially compelled because as you can guess, when there is an overwhelming majority, and an extreme minority, the minority tends to feel together, similar, and responsible for the other members of their group.(Hence the odd outrage of the trayvon martin case). This is why I strongly feel that would should stop trying to find racism, but to confront it when it is clear and obvious, so that every ethnicity can agree that this is wrong and we should stop it.

Putting all that aside, I still do feel that the people in Ferguson should peacefully protest, as opposed to the minority or rioting looters in their midst.

Mr_OwlkevMr_OwlIf tupac hadn't got killed he'd be a mediocre rapper today

big had it tho

this won the most youtube comment award

you did it

It's literally true dude was just makin shit up he went to ballet class and his rhymes were weak outside of his best 5 or 6 tracks

Can't C Me
All Eyez On Me
Pictue Me Rolling
Skandalouz
2 of Amerkaz Most Wanted
California Love
Ambitionz as a Ridah

That's from one album. He wasn't particularly lyrical primarily, but he DID have lyrical content, and he has pretty much the ideal rapping voice, and his production was consistently great.

I will admit that Pac's popularity did take a huge boost with I think with his death, and more importantly, the Biggie beef.

#36 Robin Williams Died in Off Topic

Unlike the Paul Walker(RIP) death, I can genuinely understand people being hurt by his death. Many have grew up on his works, on his movies, and laughed at his standup shows, so it's fully understandable that you're struck with some sort of grief.
