Make sure you guys msg me on steam AND join the group so I know who to contact Monday night. Thanks.
I love you mason, a&f </3
money_b: Depends on how much time you're looking to put in to improving.
Going to run the first lesson Monday @ 9:30est. Add yourselves to the group and msg me on steam so I can organize my friends list!
I named the group next level because that's the purpose, taking your game to the next level!
Couldn't really tell mason is a pretty sarcastic guy. We used to play together back in the day but I think he started disliking me for no apparent reason. I don't hold grudges though he still has my <3 if he wants it. I'm too old to hold grudges lol. Fragile you'd be a big help if you'd be willing to spend some time doing this with me. Add me if you can.
Anyways back to the actual topic I have some good training ideas for new medics and if anyone else who is experienced wants to help you're more than welcome. We have a week off from playoffs since we won the upper round so I can probably start doing some lessons this Monday.
Some things I definitely want to go over:
1) Configs
2) Heal orders, roll outs and priorities in different situations
3) Use of crossbow vs. overdose
4) Positioning and anticipation
5) Manipulating the uber advantages/opposing teams positioning by switching back and forth from Kritzkrieg
6) Communication (support comms/calling plays) Medics have more time to think about the big picture as opposed to a dm class who may have to focus in on one specific objective.
7) How to practice your rocket surfing
8) Transition heals (By far the most important heals) and how to go about them intelligently.
9) Difference between a passive/low death medic and an aggressive risky medic. You can do both just need to know when.
10) Confusing the other team by positioning and using the fake uber call. Also how to mask your own uber call so the other team doesn't know exactly when you get it.
Little things seem to make a huge difference with the class. That's what I meant by "more in depth" than most people think.
Few other things i'm sure that will come up as I go through it. Different maps call for different play styles as well which i'll go into.
Also since mason touched on it, all nationalities welcomed! Only people not allowed in are lpkane and Torbull ;)
-AA- is more of a stature guild. Not sure if they actively try to help eachother become better players. The tag just serves as a title saying "I'm a good sniper, watch out". I want this group to actually teach people and improve our game.
I also made a steam group to keep the people wanting to learn stay more organized. Join it here: http://steamcommunity.com/groups/nextlevelmedics
To whomever added me already, just send me a msg. I'd have been in invite since S12 if I didn't purposely kill xensitys roster since I had control of it. Considering we worked up from IM to invite with arc on the roster which wasn't easy.
Anyways I didn't post this to start a flame thread I just wanted to try and give back, help some newer players who can use it. Mason you're more than welcome to come by if you'd like. You know the way I used to help you back in the day when we lobbied together before you started to dislike me for no apparent reason. I think you might still even be on my friends list!
Back in the day before TF2 we had TFC which was heavily involved in the guild area. What the guilds were intended for were to get a group of guys together for a specific class and work on your skills with people who play the same class as you. Since i've mained medic most of my time here I figured it'd be a good idea to start one with the intention of helping newer medics out with some coaching and tips. This game needs more medics. It's a no glory class, your hard work isn't always seen, but it is extremely important and the center piece of most strategy. It's also a lot more in-depth than most people think as opposed to just keeping a heal beam on someone.
If you're a new or semi-new player and want some free mentoring and tips, add me on steam and we can work on our games together. I can show you what i've learned over the years and I might be able to learn from you as well. You can add me on steam if interested.
Meat has too much protein it'd never happen.
Was a gg, gl to budsquad. Thanks for casting guys !
Quiet before the storm.. Supposed to get like 4-6 over night. Hopefully no work tomorrow.
Valve will keep updating things to make the pub experience more enjoyable to keep people playing. It should probably just be banned.
Success! Merry Christmas to all, and to ALL a good night! Playoffs? PLAYOFFS?!
Where's the holiday spirit?! We play video games together!
