Haven't booked my hotel yet, but it looks like the premier inn is the cheapest/closest so maybe I'll stay there. Are people from Na bringing computers? Renting? I was thinking of just going as a spectator but maybe ill bring a laptop and some peripherals, after all medic class is easy mode even with 60hz. Maybe there's some other clowns going who want to make a pug team or something. Might as well play store tf2 if I'm traveling across the Atlantic.

This match was overturned due to actions (e.g. using a cheater or ringer) by team KICKFLIP. Any rounds that were actually played were recorded, but team malicious activity was awarded the win regardless of indicated round and stat totals.
when ur cheater team is literally named malicious activity and the other team gets banned
also get fucked air I knew it was you all along
I started playing medic for the same reason as you because in pugs and lobbies (back when tf2mix and tf2lobby.com were things) there were never people who wanted to play medic. I started off pubbing and found I most enjoyed soldier but once I played more medic I found it fun to try to survive and escape by surfing/dodging and as others have said it is very satisfying to get crossbow kills on people chasing you or save the round by getting an ubersaw. In regards to people blaming the medic for everything I agree that the majority of the time a pocket can tell when his medic is inexperienced and isn't doing exactly what he wants, but that's not to say that it's not much easier to blame your med than taking responsibility yourself. At the end of the day there are always going to be people who enjoy playing medic regardless of whatever bullshit people say about them, but this certainly can have a negative influence and dissuade newer players from playing the class.
My takeaway from the most recent medic change is that b4nny and slin wanted valve to make it obvious to newer medics that it's a good idea to heal scouts. Of course matchmaking medics are going to want to heal scouts now that they get to run faster while doing it. I don't think anything in particular should be done to make medic (or any class for that matter) less boring, changes should be based on balance and not whether or not certain players have the patience to learn how to play the class well.
The only real issue I see is a lack in diversity in weapon selection. Ever since the crossbow got passive reload nearly every medic has used it, and kritz is situational to the point that most lower level teams don't know how to play around it correctly. Lucrative is the only medic who I remember purposely using a melee other than the ubersaw, but the problem is that even if for example weapons like the vita saw got rebalanced they may still be overpowered to the point that they get banned (or at least they change the meta to that point). I could see merit in buffing kritz or nerfing quick fix to the point where it's unbannable and doesn't completely break the meta like s14 lan. If teams ran kritz more often there would be far less uber stalemates and it would promote dry pushing and generally more aggressive playstyles. Even things like spawning on kritz and building when both medics die on mid makes the game far more interesting and necessitates pushing. Some teams/medics only feel comfortable playing cookie cutter with uber but I feel that at least trying out other strategies is important, which is why I personally try to try kritz whenever I see a situation that warrants it, at the very least to make the game more enjoyable for myself.
TL;DR medic main syndrome (MMS) is a very real thing and people need to stop blaming inexperienced medics for the teams problems if they want people to actually learn how to play the class at lower levels
atmtfw I live ~40 minutes away from mister wrench
you guys should e-fuck irl
downnpouri have watched the grand budapest hotel like 15 times and i would watch it 15 time more , @ anyone who hasnt seen that movie i highly recommend
definitely agree, wes anderson is amazing
last night i saw moonrise kingdom which was also great
Blithewhat division should i play? silver? open?
join an open team its easily the best and quickest way to learn
even if you're bad and your team loses almost every match you can always find people around your skill level and scrim them to improve if you're just getting rolled by the top teams
also i think it goes without saying that doing DM, mge, pugs & jump maps will help some but in order to actually improve your understanding of the game you need to either play or watch 6s (pov, stv, casts, etc)
demo reviews of yourself can be helpful if you are good at finding your own mistakes and noticing what worked/didn't work but it may be helpful at first to have someone else give you some advice so that you don't interpret you getting out DM's as making a wrong decision, or hitting every shot and winning a fight that you shouldn't have taken in the first place as a right one

Nurseyi plateau'd in IM and i have had a hard time getting anywhere in my gameplay afterwards. :(

could it be that after we won IM with the illustrious con "nub_danish" bud both of us plateaued due to lack of his fresh memes?
I think we need a yimi-cornpop exclusive tf.tv collab cast

HEY TSC CAN YOU MAKE THE PRE-READY 3 MINUTES LIKE TF2 CENTER PLEASE? (OR MAYBE EVEN LONGER?????????)
like the way it was handled on irc was completely fine:
if you haven't said anything in chat (which would be interpreted on this site as, if you haven't clicked on anything or hovered over anythign or w.e.) for something like 5 minutes, it made you type !ready in chat (clicking the ready button), but otherwise when you type !add (click a class to add) it assumed you WEREN'T afk
the key difference here is that system assumed people were actually intending to pug when they added up whereas this site basically does anything it can to restrict people from playing (you still have to ready up even if you just readied and a pug got ended, you need to ready even if you just added up, etc.)
to make even more clear what I think the system should be:
have it check if any given user has done anything on the site for the past 5 minutes (maybe 3 minutes you decide)
if they have then put them in ready automatically (as if they clicked the button, so now it says click to un-ready)
if they haven't then say they're AFK somehow and make it clear they need to ready up
if someone hits pre-ready it should last for an actual amount of time (3-5 minutes) so that people don't have to be staring at the site for literally 10 minutes waiting for a pug to start (with captains timing it out, getting fatkidded and having to ready to the next pug, etc.)
it also should only alert people that their pre-ready has expired if the draft is not in progress it doesn't help to know "your pre-ready has expired" halfway through the picking of a pug lol
either copy tf2center or the irc bots, PLEASE for the love of god change it because the current system is way too restrictive/arbitrary (not to mention the fact that you STILL after almost a year have yet to impliment a force-add or force-end pug option and make people wait out the entire timer to end the pug and then are restricted...... you shouldn't be punished for the dev's autism/laziness in not actually creating a fully functional site)
this thread has been made a million times

A good sport needs rules in order to be set the parameters for skill and strategy
does this sentence not make sense to anyone else
i know what he was trying to say but i feel like this kind of stuff should be fixed with proof reading lol
article was solid though, he made a good point about australiums and giving people a reason to play competitive
