Please. Don't hate that I explained the golden rule of building a computer. Maybe as of late it's been fixed and evened out, but it was a thing, I experienced it many of times.

#8 FPS problems? (FX 8350 + GTX 680) in Hardware

I've experienced issues pretty similar to that on my build. In games like metro, bioshock infinite, crysis 2, I can get a stable 40-50fps even maxed out(Amd phenom x4, gtx660 ti overclocked) but with Tf2 I often get dips down to 30fps from 150, even with dx8 graphics. Triple post derp

mthsadKissmeThis may not be your problem (and most likely isn't), but in your next build, I wouldn't go mixing architectures (AMD and EVGA). You get better performance when you match an AMD CPU with an AMD GPU and an Intel CPU with an EVGA GPU.

But yea, what's your motherboard?do you mean nvidia instead of evga? evga is a company that makes video cards, nvidia makes the actual gpu architecture.

There's no reason why he would ever want to go from a gtx680 down to a 6870, even if amd's cpus did favor their gpus.

Neither cpus favor either gpu. The common assumption that intel works better with nvidia is false, and as the article shows both nvidia and ati gpus show similar performance...

thrasherdownpourso im interested in the ad700s but i listen to bass heavy music so itd be nice if there was a similar alternative that had good bass for roughly the same price.

get that to go with the ad700s. its an amp and a soundcard in one. bass isnt a problem with that. sounds fantastic.

Eh I'll probably just stick with the one monitor, I'd feel like I was cheating if I did it haha. And I've played games like chivalry and crysis on multi monitors through nvidia's control panel. Worked pretty nicely. (Though the colors were off between the two which was pretty annoying)

thee5orrowi have a pair of audiotechnica ad900's and they work really well in game. you'll have to get a sep mic but the sound quality is really good. as for music it is really good for string arrangements, but little to no bass.

#1 Headphones advice? Looking at superlux in Hardware

Heard a lot of stuff about the audio technica ad700/ad900 headphones for their soundstage with gaming and was wondering if this would help with TF2. I'll probably be running off the onboard soundcard (possibly a cheap $20 asus xonar dg in the future). Also heard a bunch about the SR850/Superlux 668 and 681 headphones on Head-Fi, anyone tried those?

What would you recommend for tf2? And would these headphones sound good for music as well, or is it strictly gaming?

I've been listening to a lot of ripped pink floyd albums and such in FLAC (lossless) with my current headphones but they are muddy and lack soundstage.

I have a few extra monitors lying around the house and was wondering if they would allow me to get a higher field of view. I remember reading somewhere that normal 16:9 (ie 1080x1920) gave something like 100 degrees where 4:3 was exactly 90. Is any of that true, and would this be counted as cheating?
So for example if I plugged in 2 1080p monitors would that change the field of view or would it just crop it?

Might just use 1 monitor and have the other one for surfing the internet, winamp etc.

Not sure if this belongs in hardware, sorry in advanced.

You are putting words into my mouth. Premiere pro is faster and much easier to incorporate into my after effects workflow, both could work but premiere is much better for the job. It is a better program itself. Has nothing to do with what I'm actually doing with it. If I can have an option to use a better program, why not? Your argument makes no sense.

And Adobe actually released that they will be moving on from CUDA and using open cl in the future a little while ago. If you have amd than vegas with opencl is going to definitely be better than premiere with software only
