#91 not just map tweaks, weapons too in TF2 General Discussion

When they fuck up all of the maps (ie locking off half of badwater), we can obviously just make badwater_pro or something, but when they nerf all of the weapons to shit what are we going to do...

#10 Good steam skins? in Other Games
JackyLegsI want to install the Metro skin but I can't really understand the instructions, can someone guide me, or just right the instructions in an easy way for me to understand?
:>

Edit: lul

Sure. Just extract the zip (or rar, forget tbh) to your desktop or wherever, and then copy it into steam/skins
(C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\skins is the default location).

Once you have that folder inside of skins you can just start up steam and go into the settings > interface tab and choose whichever custom skin you installed.

You can also adjust the color scheme and font through a settings .exe program. Drag the custom.styles that it creates (containing the new color, font etc) back into the skin folder and replace the old one (or make a backup). To apply the changes restart steam.

#1 Good steam skins? in Other Games

Heyo. Just found out about steam skins and have been looking around for some good ones. Anyone have favorites they could suggest?

I'm currently in love with this one, but sadly it's still in progress :< http://molobakk.deviantart.com/art/Zune-skin-for-Steam-WiP-258773827?offset=10#comments

#8 Decent quality for weapon models with fps config? in Q/A Help

Can't you just change your autoexec lol
Not that I wouldn't personally be too lazy to, seeing as I manually type in like 5 different binds/settings everytime I launch tf2 because I don't want to sift through all the stupid :C/programfiles x86 shit over and over again.

#7 Making my PC capable of streaming. Upgrades needed in Hardware

Not trying to threadjack, but @3, which intel cpu would you recommend then? 3570k? 4570k? 3770k, 4770k etc?

Feel like in this case he already has a good motherboard so switching would be too much money, but in my case I just have a shitty 4 year old one (non ocable, no usb 3, heat issues) so I guess it would be better to invest in a intel motherboard/cpu?

#2 Making my PC capable of streaming. Upgrades needed in Hardware

Threads. I have pretty much that computer except cpu not overclocked. I've been planning on just saving up for a 3770k ($230 at micro center if I'm not mistaken) for the single and multi threaded preformance, but I've never owned anything better than my current one haha so I have no idea.

#26 FPS problems? (FX 8350 + GTX 680) in Hardware

Does anybody know how to close programs that are running in the background? I have been exploring the processes and ending stuff ie chrome winamp etc, but does that processes tab actually show everything that is running? Or are there other hidden things

edit: thanks.

#4 frame stuttering when turning in Q/A Help

I've noticed, at least with my computer, when I turn it is not really smooth in any way. I can tell when I'm just strafing left/right that it looks nice and smooth (comparing to 45/60fps streams on twitch). But that could just be me being stupid, haha

Would you mind showing me a benchmark test of two equal cards without the SLI/Crossfire? I don't believe that rays is running 2 cards.
mthsad
EVGA = Nvidia, it's kind of assumed that those two names are one in the same, but I guess not to everyone.

Please. Don't hate that I explained the golden rule of building a computer. Maybe as of late it's been fixed and evened out, but it was a thing, I experienced it many of times.

Evga is a card manufacturer, lmfao. Are you really that dense?
HURR HP PAVILLION = WINDOWS \it's kind of assumed that those two names are one in the same, but I guess not to everyone. Dude don't you know every windows computer is manufactured by hp? That is how stupid you sound right now (disregarding the fact that you can custom build a pc and not a gpu)

#8 FPS problems? (FX 8350 + GTX 680) in Hardware

I've experienced issues pretty similar to that on my build. In games like metro, bioshock infinite, crysis 2, I can get a stable 40-50fps even maxed out(Amd phenom x4, gtx660 ti overclocked) but with Tf2 I often get dips down to 30fps from 150, even with dx8 graphics. Triple post derp

mthsadKissmeThis may not be your problem (and most likely isn't), but in your next build, I wouldn't go mixing architectures (AMD and EVGA). You get better performance when you match an AMD CPU with an AMD GPU and an Intel CPU with an EVGA GPU.

But yea, what's your motherboard?
do you mean nvidia instead of evga? evga is a company that makes video cards, nvidia makes the actual gpu architecture.

lol this, they are a manufacturer

This is completely untrue
There's no reason why he would ever want to go from a gtx680 down to a 6870, even if amd's cpus did favor their gpus.

Neither cpus favor either gpu. The common assumption that intel works better with nvidia is false, and as the article shows both nvidia and ati gpus show similar performance...
