i will never comprehend RGL's reasoning with map picks, why not let the actual people who are playing in the league vote on whether or not they want to remove a map and replace it? ESEA did this and it resulted in, surprise surprise, players not being angry at the league every season for forcing map changes without their consient! For a "community league", RGL really sure loves to jam in maps and prevent the community from having a say in what maps they play

Yes, the testers in the new map cup decided this was the best of the new maps. Now, you let the current players vote: "if you had to remove any map from the rotation, which would it be" and then "which map would you like to replace [map people voted to remove]?" Even if you restrict it to just between the best new map (reckoner in this case) and the old map (villa), letting people actually vote on it seems like the only fair way to do things. (this isn't to mention that blands/granary/other new maps should probably still be a choice in case people actually prefer one that the small subset of testers didn't like best)

whats the use case for this is there a specific reason u need to use the old one? geforce exp is a pain in the ass but it's at least functional

half life alyx runs super well and has incredible graphics, i have no doubts that some form of tf2 in the same engine will look great and run well even on modest systems

To add to what domo and 4hp have said the protection against severe symptoms is the part that is nearly guaranteed (link with statistics of different vaccines, 100% against severe disease defined by the CDC and 95% defined by FDA. Even the new study that brought the efficacy down from 95% to 84% after 6 months still had the efficacy against severe disease at 97%. It is by no means 'only' for protecting ones self, hence the reason governments all over the world are pushing for people to get vaccinated to stop widespread cases, but the reduction in hospitalization obviously is a huge bonus as well as we all know hospitals all over the world were completely full pre-vaccine.

I'm not sure if the vaccine cards are the right way to do it as, at least in the us, it disproportionately affects black communities which are understandably skeptical of vaccines after the horrendous 'human experimentation' with syphilis. However, if it leads to more people getting vaccinated and stop the second wave with delta variant I can definitely see the reason they are doing it. NYC for example was fucking ravaged by covid so it's totally fair they're being extra cautious now imo

If only the people working this and all the other similar projects could just be hired by valve and make an official project come together. Very cool stuff but reading through the blog post it seems there are a lot of limitations and it has a long way to go

My hope is valve will try to do this behind closed doors and we will be pleasantly surprised some time in the future but definitely not holding my breath lol. I can see people wanting to stick to original even if valve makes a source 2 version just because of hats but from their perspective they can do keys and hats and such in a new game and make money off them both

he literally just asked for advice for how to handle off days, nothing in his post at all said hes not having fun or mentally draining its just a fact that doing anything in life you will have some days you're feeling off (less productive in work for example)
you're basically telling him that at the first sign of difficulty he should quit because "it's not worth it" lol, sure taking breaks is healthy but it is also perfectly fine to play a game and aspire to improve and work through off days
