#92 Valve, TF2 prize money and us in TF2 General Discussion
CollaideHow about adding a ridiculously crippling weakness to stalling weapons like wrangler or rescue ranger and others that are unfair,

The idea is that stuff like the wrangler could get easily countered if the opposing team knew what to do.

examples:

"+200% damage taken from fire"

"Enemy snipers crit you on a bodyshot" on

"-30% movement speed while active"

Stats like this make every weapon super hard to understand for everyone and seem super abstract, like the miniguns for example.

Darkdwarf

Yeah, he's got all the ESH ones now I think.

There are two types of razer cups, maybe I didn't name them well.
There were "Gaming Grids TF2 Frag Fest" for EU & NA and they went from like July 2015 - September 2015
These had $100 prizepools

Then there were "Game Sense - Sunday Practice Cup"
They had $20 prizepools
There were 8 in November last year

Does this include only tournaments with prize pools of real money? Eniere organized a bunch of russian cups with prizepools worth a couple hundred euros, but mostly in keys i think

https://pixling.ru/blog/tf2/1547.html

edit:
also some other things i dug up with the links from the post above

also did you include the more recent sunday razer cups? by my count there were 31, each with a prizepool of $100

there were also some "monthly mayhem" cups. they had $1000 prizepools i think there were only two though, one eu and one na

https://arena.razerzone.com/tournaments/details/705/255Beu255D-game-sense-tf2-monthly-mayhem

there were also a bunch of "practise cups" with $20 razer vouchers for each player.

ESL
EMS VII 750 euros
EMS VI 750 euros
EMS V1000 euros
EMS IV1500 euros
ill get more soon, ik some of these sites are a little questionable but its the best i could get

also, would you mind posting the spreadsheet on google docs or something so people can see what individual events make up the broader categories? you may have missed some ozf cups, for example, which people could then identify

Sheriffnitetrump wants the death penalty for anyone who is accused of killing a police officer. So are you supporting the murder of police officers or what? I'd personally have no problem with any who was without a doubt the committer of a crime like murder having the death penalty, this is a rule we all learn in kindergarten, and it goes "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you" Does that really sound crazy?

Saying you don't want to kill someone for doing something is not the same as you saying you support what they did. That's the most retarded thing I've ever heard.

#46 The future of tf2 and i58 in The Dumpster

I don't think the issue with competitive TF2 is that pub players don't know it exists. Even prior to MM I would see pubbers talking about "comp players" or whatever in servers. I think the player base of TF2 is mostly very young and uninterested in competitive.

I think the best way to grow competitive TF2 is to promote it to players of other eSports, promote its unique movement mechanics or its projectile physics, things that aren't in other games. (Those are the things I love about TF2 but I'm sure there are plenty of other selling points.) Lots of old competitive players like carnage and numlocked came specifically for the competitive scene if I'm not mistaken.

AquilaBut at least he's honest. Too honest at some times yes.fahrenheitbut hes at LEAST honest

Trump's Politifact record. Clinton, for comparison. Neither are good, but you simply can't claim Trump is always honest.

fahrenheitidk i guess its just like honest anti-media man > corporate mouthpiece woman ultimately to people

Anyone who says this is completely delusional. Trump is a business man, he has a lot of vested interests in his companies. How he not a "corporate mouthpiece"?

Trump is also delusional himself. He thinks he will build a wall to stop illegal immigration. He's not going to. I know John Oliver might not be the best source, but he does actually use expert information and does some pretty good journalism IMO.

He also thinks he is going to deport 11M illegal immigrants. The BBC thinks that will cost $114bn.

it'd be nice but what would valve gain from it?

i think ppl have to be reasonable. valve is a company and has nothing to gain from spending so much time and effort on our community right now
