#12 what are we even playing for in TF2 General Discussion

Are logs still broken? I'm trying to setup a server and I can't get them to work through SourceMod.
Fixed, it was a barely diagnosable issue on my end.

#3 Meaning of this byte sequence in VTF hex dump? in Off Topic

I don't think you're posting this in the right place, try the AlliedModders discord, the Source Engine discord, or the TF2Maps discord.

#9 Making a mix server sucks and I suck pls help in Off Topic
YeeHawYou can't be friends with everyone as an admin and if you can't handle that you shouldn't become one.

I've been an admin for longer than I've been a player in multiple faces of the TF2 scene, and I can absolutely confirm this. The truth is you're not on the same side as everyone else, and that's something you have to understand, but most importantly accept. You are on the other side, the one people sometimes see as an "enemy", or someone "annoying" and "fun" to hold grudge against, 99% of the time because everyone does it, not because there's a logical reason.

My advice is to learn to play and enjoy the game like any other player, do your admin stuff whenever you have to, whatever it is, and don't beta/chicken out when you need to take action against people you know they need to be taken action against. After all you're the one providing, running and maintaining a place for people to play quality mixes, so balance that shit out doing what you think it's best for your place, and your players.

#60 Why must you hate me :C in TF2 General Discussion

I don't know you but I came across some people like you in these last 6-7 years of community management of mine based on what I've read. I've also been like you at some point, and I figured by myself it was just insecurities I brushed off with my personal growth. I think you basically need to do this:

saxophoneive known and played with u for like 3-4 years now and i know for a fact that if you just stop starting drama, put your head down and grind you would be able to shake off ur shitty reputation and seriously start to climb

ur not 12 anymore like u used to be, act your age or at least try to show improvement to ur attitude

You don't do it, you'll continue to have issues and be seen as a retard for the rest of eternity. Entirely your choice bud.

#21 On the verge of uninstalling tf2 in TF2 General Discussion

If you're hesitating enough to not just do it and make a thread about it instead, you'll probably come back in some time. I suggest you approach the subject as taking breaks from the game, and come back once you cooled down. Sometimes it's about building up heat until you stop, wait weeks/months and come back fresh. It's a never-ending cycle. You'll find speaking in terms of leaving is of little use.

#40 whats the best scout crosshair and why (help me) in Customization
AimIsADickikzlthis is pretty fucking sick lmaoThank you. :)hannahDo you have a video of you playing with the speed crosshair? I’m genuinely curiousNo. I'm super lazy and I usually never end up converting demos to videos. It wouldn't be difficult to get a demo up though, so I can share those instead.
TheGreatMarioyo I really liked the crosshair you have for your medigun, but do you know how I can make the green bar expand vertically from the bottom end of the cross toward its center?
The medic crosshair VTF file is composed of 25 frames, each of which has a green bar of varying length with the 0th (or 1st?) frame having no green bar at all, and the last frame having the green bar reach the edge.

Yes you can change the position of the green bars; just export the VTF file as raw image files and reposition the green bars; in fact I can do this myself if there is need for it.
TheGreatMariomb also how to make it colorable? If you mean how to recolor the green bar to a static color, then simply extract the images out of the VTF image and recolor the green bar for each (yes...each) frame.

If you mean how to recolor the greenbar dynamically, then it gets complicated.

why in the almighty fucking heavens would you want to know your SPEED while playing MEDIC

#38 Thoughts on new RGL ping guidelines? in TF2 General Discussion

trying to escape SA only to keep trying to enjoy this game in some fucking form, getting the money to play the league, working my damn ass off practicing my English calls and getting used to the unplayability of 200ms only to get restricted by some nobody that CLEARLY hasn't played a single fucking round of 6s, what a fucking time to try to enjoy some tf2

#15 Is consistency always a good thing? in The Dumpster

What do you mean by "players advocate that movements shouldn't be consistent"? I'm gonna go ahead and assume you're talking about consistency regarding being skilled with the game's mechanics.

Being consistent is about understanding the game from the mind to translate that into your gamesense and decision making/mechanical skills. You're misunderstanding and mixing the concepts of being consistent and moving unpredictably.
