#2243 Do you like the song above? in Music, Movies, TV

I always forget about Joplin since nobody else sings like that. I like what the band does with the pacing.

If you like it, the whole album is great.

#1 The Official Ford Gaming Ultidickl Tournament in TF2 General Discussion

Introducing The Official Ford Gaming Ultidickl Tournament And Frag Movie Making Extravaganza Contest

The first stage of TOFGUTAFMMEC will be a one-day single-elimination tournament.
Based on the results of this tournament, each team will get a number of points based on their placement. For example, fifth place finishers receive 5 points.

Next, each team will create a frag movie containing only clips from TOFGUTAFMMEC matches. These can be from any matches, not just their own. STV demos must be submitted following each match.

Teams are encouraged to barter for information regarding Sick Clips.

One week after the tournament, The Official Ford Gaming Council Of Elders* will meet and rank the (anonymized) frag videos. Similar to the tournament, each submission will receive points according to their placement.

Final placements are determined by the sum of these scores; lowest wins.
In the event of a tie for first or second, a first to 5 tiebreaker is played on 2f2f_directional_dinosaurs_a1 with ordinary ultiduo rules (stock, shotgun, normal uber).
A three or more way tie will be broken by a round robin; further ties will be decided by total rounds against or, if needed, time against.

Tournament Ruleset:
All games are played on ultidickl_a6_b_fix (available on serveme) or for download at
2f2f_directional_dinosaurs_a1 download: https://mega.nz/#!9CoTGJ7R!aYA9m7IkjzXmmSQnZDNiE2JKeWkxWezdNQv4DWOBxL4

Soldier: DH and gunboats mandatory, whip is banned
Medic: Quickfix mandatory, Amputator is banned
All other classes banned
KOTH first to 5 with 5 minute timer

Frag Movie Ruleset:
Total duration must be between 45 seconds and 4 minutes
All clips must be from tournament matches
Videos must be made only by rostered players; any violations will be rewarded with -$200.
An anonymous hotline will be set up to safely report cheating or collusion.
To access this, add me on steam and call someone out (preferably with evidence).

1st: $150
2nd: Signed commemorative DH and Quickfix
3rd: F-150 Sandblast will review one (1) demo of your choosing on stream
Any additions to the prizepool will be split approximately 50/35/15 between 1st/2nd/3rd, unless requested by the donator.

There is no entry fee.

July 12th at 11:00 PM EDT: Registration closes
July 13th at 3:00 PM EDT: Tournament begins; teams which fail to show up to their first matches by 3:15 will be DQ'd
July 13th at 12:00 PM EDT: All matches should have completed; STVs will be available (in this thread)
July 20th at 3:00 PM EDT: Final frag movie submissions are due
July 20th at some time: All frag movies will be streamed and ranked
July 20th at 10:00 PM EDT: Winners or tiebreakers announced
July 21st at 4:00 PM EDT: Tiebreakers played (subject to change)
July 21st at 7:00 PM EDT: Final results (subject to change)

Competitors are expected to manage per-match scheduling with their opponents.
After each match, one member from each team should report the final score to me. Whoever managed the server should give me the STV demo.

*The Official Ford Gaming Council Of Elders is composed of all current rostered players on Ford Gaming plus delpo.

Frag movie submissions without an accompanying tournament placement (and placements without submissions) will be awarded extra points as though they placed last.
Teams for the event will consist of up to three players, 2 of whom may take part in any one match of the tournament.
The Official Ford Gaming Council Of Elders reserves the (non-exclusive) right to stream matches, so if we might ask you to wait before starting a match.
Otherwise, play as soon as you are able.

Seeding before registration closes should not be taken seriously

Watch for OS updates to mitigate these, though some of them don't seem to be fixable through software alone.

#18 Fully Discord Based Automated Pug System in TF2 General Discussion

Discord audio is shittier in every way compared to mumble (latency, quality, options).

Dscord user management is shittier in every way compared to mumble.

Discord as a company received substantial funding from such privacy-conscious organizations as tencent and time warner. Discord has nothing but VC money and will almost certainly start selling user data/pushing ads, just look at the privacy policy (especially the forced arbitration clause they added to it 6 months ago). Don't worry though, they promise that they'll make their investors happy (>$700M valuation) by selling stickers and animated profile pictures.

The only thing going for it over mumble/irc is persistent chat, which you can get from plenty of other places (and which you really don't need for a pug system).

Edit: Also worth noting, Discord is proprietary with unspecified security (which they promise is sufficient), while mumble is open-source and encrypts both text and voice chat.
