looks like someone beat me to this one but I was already making it anyway so here it is
Figure out an objective way to judge if a clip is good enough to use. Quality > Quantity
I usually gather clips that are okay for my standard, then make a notepad in which I describe the clips in short (kills, map, extra info like airshots/1v1s/not having heals/etc). Then you can rank them to find the ones you like most and filter out scraps.
Having a notepad like that also helps you orden clips in the video.
For example I make sure to mix scout, sniper and soldier clips equally so you don't watch 2 minutes of soldier frags, then 2 minutes of scout frags. Same goes for maps. This is just a thing I prefer though. Many people probably don't care about this.
You can keep scraps and use these for editing practise. It's up to you if you upload those as a scrap montage or just delete the project afterwards. These are just for learning things like transitions/smoothing/etc so your serious videos will turn out better. No need to spend hours on a scrap montage. Just throwing some clips together, figuring out transitions and maybe making a single smooth every now and then can help
Don't use minimal viewmodels in videos. A lot of people don't like the look of it. Regular viewmodels with viewmodel_fov between 70 and 90 are fine

This works for me on windows 8.1. basically for some backwards reason you don't get scaling options unless you use a 4:3 monitor res but you can just change it to 4:3, turn on scaling, go back to the native screen res and it will still enable scaling for any 4:3 game like TF2
Go here
http://puu.sh/sAKe1/1598b1acf5.png
change to 1024x768 or whatever 4:3 option the slider will give you. You'll now have a monitor res that's 4:3. Select Keep Changes if a window pops up
http://puu.sh/sAKhx/eda846de4d.png
Click the Advanced Settings and change the scaling to Scale Full Screen. Now your monitor will scale the 4:3 res so you should already see the scaling happening if you did things correctly up to this point
http://puu.sh/sAKkd/649c76ee25.png
Now close Advanced Settings and change back to your native resolution
http://puu.sh/sAKtJ/b3bfdbc77b.png
Now you can enjoy scaling in videogames. If you want to disable it again you'll have to go through the same steps (change monitor res to a 4:3 res, open advanced options, disable/enable scaling, change monitor res back to original res)

Should be all of them
I don't see the flags you should check when saving a VTF. Should include those in case they're not in this guide. I might just be dumb and have read over them though :)
I'd also like to add that there is a VTF plug-in for both paint.net and gimp.
I used to use gimp for making VTFs but after installing the plug-in I switched to paint.net.
Haven't tested it on gimp but I'm assuming it works the same way.
It allows you to make VTF files without the need for VTFedit and you can open VTF files directly into paint/gimp
If you save something as a VTF a window pops up: http://puu.sh/ss3z9/2952eedf25.png
I always made the template Generic (Default). Leaving it empty made it very blurry if I recall correctly.
Then go to Flags and make sure these are checked: http://puu.sh/ss3Ee/af6ea5eab2.png
I always check Point Sample as well if the crosshair only has straight lines. Point sample is the first flag in the list. It prevents them from looking a tiny bit blurry (best way to test this is by making the crosshair scale very big and compare between the 2 flags).
I don't use point sample for crosshairs with curves (like wings) because it makes them slightly less pixelated on low resolutions and I prefer playing TF2 with 640x480 because I'm a disgusting individual. It's mostly preference with Point Sample but that's how I decide.
Point Sample (optional, good for crosshairs without curves)
No Mipmap
No Level Of Detail
No Minimum Mipmap
Eight Bit Alpha (Format Specific)
credit to dolphin rider for the flags
There's no best way to make VTF crosshairs though so use VTFedit if you don't feel like installing the plug-in. In the end if all flags are checked correctly you should have the same end product with VTFedit or the plug-in
though not an fps I've been having a lot of fun playing Path of Exile for a month or 2 now. First time I've played a game like it and it's definitely a lot of fun to jump into.
Path of exile works with leagues that go on for a couple of months. A new one is starting in December. Everyone will then make new characters in this league so that'll be a good time to join in on the fun. There's a lot of varying beginner friendly character builds that you can build without any prior experience in PoE
Gomperare you sure? :D

Ah didn't even know they did that already. I left the discord and am quite disconnected from everything TF2 related atm. My bad :)
