#7 Phil with an F LF medic in Recruitment (looking for team)

Holy cow paul still plays? i haven't seen him in forever(since shortly after he changed his name from king of spades)

Also pretty cool bunch of guys, and they're individually quite talented, definitely a good team for a medic that's looking to make playoffs to join.

#109 Fat shaming in Off Topic

I'd just like to address the whole "Being fat/obese is just lazy and people make excuses about it" thing. There are quite a few obese/fat people that would love to lose weight and are more than willing to put in the time/effort, but simply can't.

I mean there are only so many hours in a day, just from what I've seen personally from older people in the office people who genuinely would like to work, out and in their "younger" days were actually fit, and athletes and what not simply can't, because they have no time to do so.

They work anywhere from 40-90 hours a week(depending on department and whether it's tax season and what not) than they go home to their wife and kids where they have responsibilities as well, whether it be coaching little league, or helping their 'special' child with his school work. Hell some people go right to a second job or to do consulting or taxes on the side.

By the end of the week you are only getting 4-5 hours of sleep a night, and have like 4-5 hours of leisurely time just for yourself in an entire week, which isn't really enough time to maintain being healthy, and before you say they should just regulate their diet more, you have to keep in mind to run on like 35 hours of sleep a week for months if not a few years, you have to take in quite a lot of calories.

EDIT: Doesn't really apply to the OP since waffleb's posts seem to indicate her friend is quite young.

#66 What did YOU do today? in Off Topic

i'm in day 8(or 9 if you count the control day) of a sleep study where you attempt to only sleep 3 hours a day than run for 25 mins straight checking distance and Heart rate, i pretty much plan on not moving for next 16ish hours until i can finally go back to sleep.

#10 the state of tf2mix in TF2 General Discussion
reillyHowever, there is two sides to the argument. A lot of people find those games with stupid offclassing, IDGAF quickfixing, etc. to be a lot of fun, and thus don't see a problem with it. If someone starts offclassing and it's bothering you, tell them in chat, at least give them a warning, because they might not realize.

explain this part.. do you mean as in running Quick fix specifically against the will of your team.

Or

Just running quick fix, quite a bit/full time. Because while the first one is kind of dumb/wrong as long as your own team is fine with it i see no reason for running quick fix to be frowned upon. for me personally it makes pug medic more entertaining, and i'm actually willing to medic as long as it's allowed.

badlands soldier jump off the spawn wall is broken...

EDIT: you have to hit the frame directly i guess it isn't a huge deal, but it will take a bit of time to fix months of muscle memory.

#99 First Job in Off Topic

Being part of a construction/demolition crew , or working with a ununionized small contractor is a fantastic first job, you literally don't have to have any requirements, you just have to show up on time and work hard, and it's usually 10-15 dollars cash(as long as it isn't unionized).

Plus if/when you get into college you'll have 2-3 years of experience on the job, and will of networked out the butt(usually pretty cool guys, down to earth easy to get along with etc) and than if they're tearing down a store near your college or whatever you can jump on the crew for a weekend making like 20-25 buck an hour. And in the summer you can easily work with 3-4 crews if you want, and work 60-70 hours a week, at 15-25 bucks an hour. probably the most you'll make as a temp job in the summer while having no real credentials.

He's a very nice guy, has nice hair, and past his hard defensive exterior, he's a handsome young man just looking for acceptance from his trauma in his childhood, companionship of his peers and true love.

#54 srs business in Off Topic

Next time they decide to move just stay. Just get a job and live with a friend's family or a group of friends. I mean maybe i'm the exception to the case or whatever, but i did it my junior-senior year of H.S. when i didn't want to move I guess technically they could of forced, me but by time you're 17 i believe(maybe i'm wrong) you can become independent of your parents/guardian legally if you so choose(really a nasty thing to have to do and i'm sure your parents wouldn't really want to force you to that extreme).

And if it isn't a matter of moving, and more so one of independence getting a job can work, i mean you might live in the middle of nowhere and not be able to drive but i'm sure there's someone reasonably close to you, that you could befriend. A buddy of mine during his summers worked in Dawsonville Georgia and the area was(is?) incredibly rural and spread out, he use to carpool with a guy who was his closest neighbor and he lived like 30 mins away. So i'm sure you can dig up some way to get to work, even if it entails paying like 15% of your wages to your ride.
