#9 RGL S6 Adv SF: una limonada por favor vs. Lombre in Events

This should be a fantastic series. Best of luck to both teams.

#19 RGL S6 IM/AM/NC Happenings/Discussion in TF2 General Discussion
sunderkeeninwe all know how bad HL is. The "balance" could've been bad if they hadn't had *every single sniper player on their team restricted off of sniper*, but they did have every single sniper player restricted, so it isn't even an unfair level of play. Advanced is basically what main HL used to be because challenger was added, and it's not like even invite HL players haven't gotten shitrolled in main or IM 6s before.
HL was only a good point of shittalk because everyone was shittalking HL. Sweaty did more offclassing than the HL players did.

What a shitty "argument." If the point is that the team had a bunch of restrictions, if they weren't playing in a lower level div then they wouldn't have said restrictions. If the point is that past Highlander players have not been successful before, I can point to many players and teams at Main and above who have had good seasons. Highlander gets shittalked for the format, not the players. Not to mention the high level Highlander experience the Bedtime Hotshots roster has, compared to Sweaty Spaghetti who are all finishing their second ever season of 6's at the IM level. Also what does offclassing have to do with anything?

There's something called being "magnanimous in victory" and instead this dude acts like a massive cunt for no reason at all. I don't care if you're beating Newcomer players or froyotech, no need to say what he did.

#30 can we please have badlands and granary back in TF2 General Discussion

Problem: Nobody can agree on which maps are good. It's actually impossible to find a map that everyone likes, just look at the responses in this thread (and elsewhere). Some people hate Badlands, others hate Bagel, others Gullywash and Process, etc. etc. You will never have a map pool that satisfies the community. As a tie-in to that, people are divided on if KOTH is good or if 5CP is good.

Problem: TF2 players are allergic to trying new things, specifically maps. See the participation in various New Map Cup events over RGL's history. Their immediate reaction to a new map is "it sucks because it's new/weird" or "it sucks because I don't know how to play it." Turns out you have to actually play a fucking map before you know how, crazy.

Problem: If you make non-Invite divs run pick/ban, I'd wager teams would just ban all the newer maps and repeat the same three to four degen pug maps all season long. Oh wait, I don't have to wager because ESEA did that already and we saw how that turned out.

Problem: RGL's methods for handling the map pool are absolute shit. Need I remind everyone that they seriously tried to claim that people hated Granary after last season because it was the least popular map from a SEASON 2 POLL. Then they don't run Granary in the most recent New Map Cup. They could actually do proper things to get the playerbase's opinions on maps or facilitate new/old maps being introduced but nah. RGL not using common sense yet again.

So what we have are a myriad of problems and RGL isn't helping anyone with how they're going about it. And we will continue having this discussion until the end of time. Man, remember when in ESEA we just voted out Granary and then voted it back in? Good times.

If you are being penalized for not having demos in this day and age when you KNOW they've been requesting demos for seasons now it is nobody's fault but your own.

How is an Intermediate player not allowed to ring Medic in Intermediate when players like kurama and Knuckles have played Medic for an entire season in Amateur?

froyotech map losses in 2021: 11
froyotech map losses from 2017 to 2020: 12

Granted all the 2021 losses were on EU ruleset so if this doesn't convince NA that EU ruleset is better, I don't know what will.

#43 RGL Ringer Fees in TF2 General Discussion

ESEA
[+] Match statistics (per season, career, class-specific, map-specific, etc.)
[+] LAN for top Invite (until S19)
[+] Sane playoff sizes / bracket
[+] Invite at 8-9 teams every season
[+] Easily accessible STVs for every match
[+] Schedules out a week in advance
[-] ESEA Client (arguably the most garbage piece of technology created when it wasn't mining bitcoins)
[-] At most, there were two admins for the entirety of TF2
[-] For a time Invite cost you fucking $85 to play
[-] TF2 literally an afterthought; honestly remarkable ESEA TF2 lasted 29 seasons

RGL
[+] Excellent league structure (especially for lower-levels)
[+] On average better team numbers (granted the pandemic was a factor)
[+] Ringer flexibility (with a fee)
[+] Offseason events like New Map Cups
[+] Functional support ticket system (byproduct of having more than two admins)
[+] Multiple admins all across the league
[-] Awful decisions made by said admins (this could be like fourteen bullet points in and of itself)
[-] For a time fucking winning matches was not as important as the rounds / points system
[-] No match statistics whatsoever
[-] No LAN (granted the pandemic was a factor)
[-] Bad website that is down every three visits

Pick your flavor of poison. I mean we don't get to choose, but each league is good / bad for different reasons.

WingmannTIL Reptile was the Froyo medic in ESEA season 9

Not quite. Reptile joined the team about halfway through the season but on Soldier; CB was Medic for half the season with mackey stepping in the remainder. Then for LAN, mackey and Reptile switched roles. Reptile's S9 Medic performance was one of the best in ESEA history, which coincidentally was also tyrone's best performance.

Also, that team was eMg at the time. The froyotech name / brand did not come about until ESEA S16.

BLANCTV kicks off Season 6 coverage with an IM duel between two long team names: gollywobbler - cant play medic and MAJOR LEAGUE SWAG OUT. The former is a bunch of offclassing Power Surge members while the latter just barely lost by a round to the 3-0 Broken Keyboards. Join Tery and exile Friday night for some Metalworks snoozing. I mean action. Yeah, that.

#43 alphabet team theory in TF2 General Discussion

Hello! As part of my celebratory 24 hour stream, I will spend a portion of it to begin work on the ALL-TIME ALPHABET TEAM rosters. Right now I have planned this segment for Saturday around 12:30PM EST. Should be a fun time assuming I survive.
