Maybe they haven't gone through with the wiping yet ...

edit: it looks like they mainly use twitter as an outlet for their facebook posts, could somebody please try to contact them on there before it's too late? https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10151771606019361&l=197dc941e4

SalamancerHas anyone made fun of OP for spelling "Favorite" wrong yet?

I was about to argue that that's the correct spelling for us Brits. Then I saw he was American.

AladinSimUh... My TF2 crashes about once a month or so.Good for you. Doesn't mean it's the same for everyone else.

My point was that the lan setups should have no reason to crash more. Obviously tf2 doesn't have some mysterious crashing curse upon it, so playing at lan should result in less crashes than people playing on their own variable hardware.

JasTang_Unin non qf-related stuff, wasn't the number of crashes/players lagging much higher than usual? the purpose of LAN is to take shit like that off the table...TF2 crashes, that's the unfortunate truth, playing on lan doesn't change that. LAN is to get ping out of the equation primarily.

Uh... My TF2 crashes about once a month or so.

#11 I need some help, PC shut down and won't post in Hardware

I'm using this mobo (and a similar setup) and had the same issue (pretty much exactly). The LEDs are really not useful at all - it's worth picking up a post speaker.

It was a defective RAM module that was causing my issues (and lighting up the VGA or CPU led, thanks Asus), but it could be different for you. Make sure you check both modules individually (make sure the connectors are good) as one bad module will prevent posting.

If you need more help troubleshooting I can offer some experience of having worked with that issue, so just prod me or whatever.

#25 Building new computer need elite techy help! in TF2 General Discussion
blinK6) One MAJOR problem i'm encountering is heat coming from my PC. My room is always hot. So a good case and cooling system is a must but I must admit i'm clueless as to how or what.

Uh, this won't work. Cooling systems just move heat from your case/parts to the room more effectively, so your room will likely become hotter with this new build. You should think about investing in a cooling system for the room (eg a big-ass fan to point at a doorway).

#22 PC not detecting new HDD in Hardware

I had to download new SATA controller drivers before I could use it, but I can't recall whether it was visible in BIOS before that. I'm unfamiliar with your motherboard's SATA controllers (hell, I don't even really know what I'm talking about) so I'll defer to jp_ here.

The lack of a label on the HD I would find very concerning.

EDIT: Hang on, check the chipset section here:

http://uk.asus.com/Motherboards/AMD_AM3/M4N68TM_V2/#download

and see whether those drivers help (that package contains sata drivers)

EDITEDIT: I would still just call it DOA, but if another one displays these symptoms you might try these drivers.

kirbyWell, if downloading new drivers doesn't work, then I'm absolutely sure I bought a dead HDD.

Couple of quick questions:

OS (and 32/64 bit)?
Are you trying to swap out an old HDD for a new one, or have them running together?

#16 PC not detecting new HDD in Hardware
kirbySo I'm pretty sure Newegg sent me the wrong one. On my Newegg order it states - 1 x Seagate ST310005N1A1AS-RK 1TB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive

So 3.0Gb/s, which is what I'm looking for. The box, however, says "system requirements - 6Gb/s SATA interface connector or motherboard or add-in card (backward compatible to SATA 3GB/s)"

I'm not sure if I have an "add-in card" but something tells me I don't. If I did, then I would probably be able to get this working. Did they send me the wrong item? I feel like they did.

Well 6Gb/s HDDs should work fine (and not be slowed at all, actually) in a 3Gb/s port. I'll look up the drivers now.

Also check whether you need to download new drivers. Search for your motherboard and see whether there are any SATA downloads for it - I had to download the available "JMicron Controller Driver" before my second drive was recognised.
