Stalemates are a result of neither team having a reason to be the aggressor in an equal situation. I personally would be hesitant to call stalemates and slow gameplay a flaw because having the time to set up plays is some of the more interesting tactical decisions you get to make in this game. Koth doesn't have this problem as one team is always pressured but tf2 doesn't have a depth of tactical choices like csgo to make this actually interesting which leaves koth to be the most shallow type of map in the pool.

I think regardless of what other game mode you try that has a clear attack and defending side you will see a similar outcome. This is all forgetting that this game is purely played for fun and I don't think most people got in to 6v6 to play heavy all game.

Looks cool and doesn't seem too big. I know a lot of people I've spoken too enjoy that aspect of lans like cph19 where all of the tf2 players are in one section so you don't have to trek to see your friends.

Personally I saw a massive improvement in my rockets when I started using only gunboats in mge. Lots of the downsides people are listing are actually good reasons to use gunboats in the first place; you'll learn to "counter jump" away from people shooting down at you and not having a secondary to rely on will teach you the value of your rockets and waiting for people to land before shooting.

I know that this thread is for discussing the balance of the plugins but a discussion about whether or not the use of plugins that impact gameplay (med speed, gunboats, winger) should be used at all is required. I see lots of comments where people will suggest altering certain plugins or cherry picking which ones they like so I feel the need to emphasise that choosing to go this route will only have negative consequences.

The quality of life plugins are great.

My two cents as someone who has played top level during all forms of the scout speed.

I think the impact of having scout speed vs no scout speed is vastly being over exaggerated in this thread. The plugin doesn't introduce newer problems, it highlights existing issues while reducing the importance of other aspects that were more relevant with scout speed. Whether or not the game is played with the plugin is honestly a matter of preference from a gameplay stand point and what you personally find annoying or how you want to play the game and I think that is why as a topic its quite polarising. However I don't think the plugins should be used as it isolates our scene from the rest of the community and that I would be very cautious in continuing to cherry pick which plugins are preferable while they continue to have a big gameplay impact. I agree with the idea that just because its better than the stock doesn't mean it should be banned and that taking into account how strong demo is as a class is more important but I can understand why people want to ban it. For me the worst part about this weapon is that it feels wrong or cheesy to be hit by projectiles that are no where near you and yeah you can say that its just the nature of projectiles in this game but none are as egregious as the iron bomber. I wouldn't care as long as it was consistent in its hitbox and vfx whether you increase the vfx to match the hitbox or make the hitbox smaller because as it is right now the extra power and utility in consistent pipe jumping are healthy for the game but not when it comes at the cost of other players feeling robbed because of a hitbox.
