#5 stalemate timer in TF2 General Discussion
brownymasterEDIT: Also, we generally say no to pro_maps of stock maps. Except granary, since that map has been fucked with for so long like when they added gates then removed it and the lack of symmetry/spawn locations and what not.

And except koth_pro_viaduct, and then all the rest are custom maps designed for the comp community except gravelpit and badlands. I don't think there's anything wrong with making pro_ versions and they're often better, it just has to be done well. And on topic I don't think this is really an issue, lowering the time wouldn't add anything to the game imo.

#141 Lange @ i49 in TF2 General Discussion

I think that's just confirmation that they've asked him if he's interested in helping out, not that he's going yet.

TFTV's coverage of the eu scene has been awesome, I don't know what you're talking about ethug.

#52 Lange @ i49 in TF2 General Discussion

VTV aren't willing to merge and become part of TFTV, and they want to do i49 like they have done the other lans. Fair enough, until you look at the bigger picture and realise that TFTV can offer so much more, and with a big event like this it's really important that the coverage is as professional as possible. There was an opportunity to make i49 a truly epic lan for spectators and I think it just disappeared.

VTV should definitely let TFTV take i49 but with the proviso that VTV's casters are used as well. VTV have nothing to offer other than that have they?

EDIT: In reply to Trell, we have seen vtv coverage of lans, multiple times, when you had a better team. It's not enough to do a big lan like this justice.

And maybe multiplay will realise when TFTV have bigger viewer numbers that they backed the wrong org...

#24 IGL? in TF2 General Discussion
DidgeFirst of all, I apologise to IGL jumping in on their post, however, ESA is launching very soon, we’re almost ‘complete’ and will be providing a full beta product for people to play with. As for Sideshow, I am not sure how you have come to the conclusion about us? In Europe we have administrators you know and service your needs at present. ESA is not intended to be a Pay to Play website, we offer that service as a supplement to our regular operations. If you would like to share your concerns, I will happily convince you otherwise. Thanks

I talked to one of the others involved in ESA and we chatted for a while and (as long as he was well informed) I don't think you understand the basic ideas surrounding the paying side. Which means no prize pool and you'll be another free league, which isn't a bad thing but it's not what I had hoped...

I don't know why these weapons are unbanned in ESEA if they just make people annoyed whenever they're used, and aren't viable at the top anyway...

EDIT: that's not a rhetoric, why are they allowed?

#141 Esea Client Mining Bitcoins in Off Topic

Personally I think it's amusing how europe is worse off for having a community run league most of the time, but then situations like this make the american scene want to be like us for a while.

If you really think about the large scale, the whole game would be a lot worse if NA tf2 turned to a community league too...

#7 What now? in TF2 General Discussion

I don't think anything will happen and this will all blow over soon enough. In the event that it doesn't, it might be an idea to renew those talks with IPL or start talks with other leagues just in case...you never know you might get an awesome deal that you go for even if esea doesn't crumble :)
