#26 Cheapest stream/gaming build in NY area. in Hardware

Fixed it, although the 1230 is pretty expensive atm for some reason, might be cheaper at microcenter though.

Haswell-E would be at least 200$ for the mobo, 600$/400$ (8C/6C) and probably 100$ or more for 8GB DDR4 RAM.

May I suggest a Xeon?
Yes, the clockrate is slightly lower (3.3GHz vs 3.4GHz), although you can get an E3 1240 v3 (3.4GHz) if you think it's worth 20 bucks more and it will demolish anything in terms of streaming performance apart from an i7 or other more expensive Xeons.

#6 Laptop to CRT Monitor Question in Hardware

Afaik VGA is cabable of 2048x1536px @85 Hz (388 MHz) ~ 1440x1080 @170Hz ~ 1024x768 @340Hz ~ 921x691 @420Hz.
You're usually limited by the monitor, iirc most aren't built to handle higher bandwidth than needed so if you want to up the refresh rate you have to turn down the resolution anyway.

Reinstalling doesn't necessarily mean that you ran -autoconfig.

If you replaced configs anyway then backup your settings/binds, delete everything, launch with -autoconfig and then use your normal launch options and configs (settings+chris) again.

1. GPU usage?
2. Why stabby's config, just WHY?

Other than that, welcome to TF2.

#11 VAC sending info to valve in TF2 General Discussion
eeeSetsulSee #3
If you're not comfortable with VAC checking wether you use cheats or not while playing on a VAC secure server, then you shouldn't play on VAC secure servers. I mean that's the point of AC, checking for cheats.

On the other hand an AC client that is able to access every file on your PC while mining bitcoins, when it shouldn't even be running is clearly doing a little bit more than just checking for cheats.
I'm just scared valve's gonna check my exhentai favs dude

Don't worry, it's hashed, they will only recognize them if they already knew those sites.

#164 ESEA's possible demise? in TF2 General Discussion
blendtecmoney_bLook at EU tf2 with no lan other than the i series... The game isn't dead for them. Nor will it die anytime soon.

As long as people enjoy playing tf2, the game won't die. If you really need a LAN that badly to save the game, get involved with CEVO and help make it happen in due time. They already understand that LAN is the dealbreaker for higher level players and will work on it, given enough community support.

You can't expect the masses of open players to keep throwing money away at ESEA for shitty service, a shitty client, and shitty servers just to give the practically untouchable teams at the top of the pyramid a fun time at ESEA LAN every season. Not gonna happen.

Some people actually like playing this game, so before your pants are completely filled with shit, calm your tits, this scene won't die that easily.

EU TF2 is basically dead, dude. Have you been following the scene the past few seasons? 10-12 top players leave every season.

As a european, I can confirm.

EU TF2 was nonexistent before we had ESEA and it instantly vanished again as soon as we dropped ESEA.

ESL was dropped for less than ESEA. ETF2L got boycotted for a season because they allowed unlocks. EU is stubborn as fuck, never thought about what's good for competition/spectators/"the scene" and still survived.

I'm not asking anyone to make stupid decisions (like some of what EU did in the past), but almost no one understands why you are willing to put up with whatever shit ESEA is throwing at you, for the sole reason that they have a LAN with prices.

#70 ESEA's possible demise? in TF2 General Discussion

It would be interesting to hear from those "50%" of invite players if they would actually quit tf2 and refuse to play CEVO if ESEA drops tf2 or not.

Website, LAN and everything else aside:

How do you expect the competition in CEVO to get better if you refuse to play CEVO because "the competition isn't as good as in ESEA"?

#40 ultimate question in Off Topic

So we have animal A that is well below the size and weight of the average prey animal S of predator B.
What do you expect to happen when for some reason B is trying to kill A?

A big adult male polar bear can kill a 2 ton walrus and believe it or not, you're way more likely to get your eyes stabbed out or being killed by 3 feet long tusks than by opposable thumbs.

Yeah dude fuck free healthcare let me die in a hospital with a treatable disease like a true American.

Free healthcare does not exist. The kind of taxes that you'd have to levy on the US population in order to fund such an idea would be extortionate. Times are hard as it is.

Afaik the US spends almost double of what Canada is spending per capita.
Maybe it's not about how much money you put into it and rather how you use it?
