#21 Biggest glow up? in Off Topic
Wild_Rumpussideshow went from streaming tf2 in a shed to a married man with a successful esports career, all it cost was his hair

Tbh between getting kicked out of med school and eating boiled bull cock live on twitch, idk if the shed was his lowest point

#2 PSA: Imgur to purge old anonymous & NSFW uploads in Off Topic

The internet is becoming lamer and lamer. Thanks for the heads up
In other news google wants me to send them a picture of a government issued photo ID plus a utility bill in my name/address so I can continue to buy 99 cent games on my play store account that I've used for over a decade with no issues. Fuck this shit in general

Yeah I've seen nursey doing demo reviews on twitch a while ago, the category wasn't set to tf2 probably to avoid people finding out.

#1 Porting tf2 maps to unreal engine 2.5 in Off Topic

Is there any way to easily port tf2 maps to unreal engine 2.5 (killing floor specifically)

I realize this question is a big stretch, but if anyone knows a way or has any ideas apart from recreating them from scratch, let me know

#7 Headset mic picking up my audio in Hardware

Idk how valid this is nowadays but I remember 10+ years ago, me and a bunch of other people had the same issue and disabling stereo mix in your recording devices fixed it. Worth a shot since it takes 2 seconds to fix

#11 Laptop won't sleep or shut down in Q/A Help
turbochad69This is pretty far fetched but depending on which lenovo laptop it is you could try clearing the nvram. These instructions work for mine, newer lenovo laptops might be different. Alternatively you can usually achieve the same thing by temporarily removing the cmos battery (and unplugging the AC adapter and main battery).

Some lenovo laptops also have features to reset stuff that involve holding the power button for something like 20 seconds, either with the battery and AC adapter plugged in or not plugged in or some combination. You could google if your particular model has anything like that.

Thanks for the advice, but at this point we're waaay above my pay grade hahah. I'll just take it to the store, it's still under warranty so I'll let them bother with it

Rockzcan you try a different OS? like make a live usb and test it there, that'll rule out if it's a hardware or windows fault

Alright, I just tried out Ubuntu on a USB, power off and suspend (which I assume is the Linux version of sleep) still don't work, same as on my regular win 10

supraRockzcan you try a different OS? like make a live usb and test it there, that'll rule out if it's a hardware or windows faultthat's actually a good protip, use ubuntu linux live cd, work on it for like a day (i bet you won't play tf2 on it but you surely can use browser and stuff and see if the problem persists)
you don't have to install linux on your drive, it's enough if you have it on your pendrive

if you don't have a usb stick, get it it's very cheap and i bet it's worth taking for your case
8/16 GB is defo enough

I'll try to get my hands on a USB stick, will post results when I do, prob late tonight or tomorrow.

Anyway, in the meantime, a common problem is apparently the intel management engine, you have to uncheck "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.” in device manager and the issue is solved.

Like i said earlier, I have a ryzen cpu and apparently the amd equivalents of the intel management engine are called AMD Secure Technology or AMD Platform Security Processor (PSP). I wanted to look for them to see if theyre causing a similar issue for me, but they're not in my drivers list in device manager. Can any large brained individual help with this lead?

#4 Laptop won't sleep or shut down in Q/A Help

Some more things I did:
- Updated all my drivers with avast driver updater, as per some dude on reddit's advice
- did powercfg -requests, this popped up, I disabled it with "Powercfg -requestsoverride Driver “Legacy Kernel Caller” System". I then ran powercfg -devicequery wake_armed, 2 things popped up (pic). I tried disabling "allow this device to wake the pc" or w.e. in device manager, it worked for the keyboard but the nvidia usb C one kept resetting on every restart so I just disabled it. Point being, last wake, requests and wake armed are all clear now (pic), but I still can't shut it down without holding the power button.
- I also tried the recovery boot thing that lets you get into bios and shit and tried hitting shut down from that menu, didnt work
- Also, I hit shut down before going to bed last night and left it like that over night, I found some ms forum posts saying that it should come up with an error code within 2-3h max if it cant shut down, but I left it for about 8h and nothing happened, I could hear the fan going on and off during the night as if the PC is still on, when I got out of bed, fan still on, no error code, power light still glowing

Rockzcan you try a different OS? like make a live usb and test it there, that'll rule out if it's a hardware or windows fault

I don't have access to a usb right now, it would take me a couple days before i could try installing linux or w.e.
For what it's worth, I tried booting it in safe mode and shutting it down from there, didn't work either

joshuawnwhat's the model of the laptop?

#1 Laptop won't sleep or shut down in Q/A Help

Title. Win 10 pro, latest updates, didn't change anything when the issues started. Screen goes black, the power LED remains constantly on (supposed to be off when the pc is off, slow blinking when it's sleeping) and I can hear the fans running still. Pressing buttons, including the power button, does nothing, doesn't wake it. All I can do is hold the power button to force shutdown.

Restarting works fine for some reason.

I've tried:
- unplugging everything I had plugged into the laptop
- restoring the default power plan options
- shutting down stuff running in the background like Plex
- disabling fast boot
- using system restore to about a week ago
- defaulting bios settings
- powercfg /energy in cmd, the log file didn't show anything that would prevent it from sleeping
- updating drivers from Lenovo (their software said I have everything up to date)
- checking for shit with error messages in device manager (none existed)

Note: a common problem I found online was something to do with an Intel driver (forgot which one, but it was version 11), point being I'm on AMD not Intel so it's irrelevant.

Any ideas before I throw my laptop like a frisbee at the nearest wall?

Edit: other shit I've tried that didn't work
- making a shutdown shortcut (same result as just doing start>shut down)
- running cmd as admin and typing shutdown /p (same result as just doing start>shut down)
- repairing windows files or w.e. with sfc /scannow in cmd
- disabling Allow downloads from other PCs in windows update delivery optimizations

At this point, I'm lost. Help.
