Let's stop talking about freedom of speech and shit and actually move this conversation into what is and isn't allowed. ReflectoI just wanted to say that the people who are defending pred and degu aren't defending the things they say they're defending their right to say it. Defending a person's right to say horrible things is like being pro gun and against murder. I think that most people who think like that are just worried about where the line will be drawn and who has the right to draw said line.

But that is the beauty of owning a company. You can do what you fucking want. For example if ESEA doesn't feel that I am a good representation of their company because I call a person ugly and they decide to ban me then I'm fucked. There's nothing I can do about it, it's their company and they can do shit like that.

In the court of public opinion pred and degu are pretty fucked I'd say and if you want the league you play for to ban players like this than keep up what you're doing and speak out about it publicly. But do understand that not everyone wants that and it isn't because they want to enable hate speech and are in favor of hate speech they just might value free speech higher that you and thats fine.

free speech protects you from the government and that is it. nothing else. saying whatever you want on a video game is not "exercising your free speech right."

a big problem is a lot of stuff like racism, bigotry, and other general toxic hatred happens day in day out, especially in lowly regulated places like TF2Center and in a lot of pug groups, but when people say things like tranny or the n-word or other shit like that, people will very often choose to do nothing about it, despite being teammates or even friends with these people. no one bothers to correct the behavior of others in this game when it matters.
