#46 Demo Buddy (A tool for launching demos/recording) in TF2 General Discussion
barryHm I'm pretty sure I run dx9. I do use the -nod3d9ex launch option (not even sure if it's related, I'm less familiar with launch options.)

I don't think the two are related. You can check which DX version you're running by booting the game and looking at your advanced video options. It should say, albeit greyed out and un-editable, your GPU dx level and the dx level you're launching with your game.

If you're running DX8 with a DX9 config, that might cause some graphical issues, but I'm not sure if it accounts for civilian models lol.

How about your launch options? Dx9 is used for the quality CFGs, dx8 for the fps CFGs.

Awesome. Love the auto-update as well.

That's a pretty good idea! So the program doesn't do anything to the custom CFG, it's all up to the user, and it just launches alongside demobuddy?

Pretty much. Nothing for you to add except that exec command and maybe a note in the readme and I think a lot of people would be happy about it.

#22 Warm ups & Consistency in TF2 General Discussion

tr_rocket_shooting2 to warm up wrist, jump_quba to warm up jumps, tr_newbots to warm up shotty, SOAP DM to warm up overall DM. An hour at least doing everything. Before matches or whenever my hands are cold I usually dunk my hands into hot water in the sink for 15 seconds. I also do wrist exercises to keep them stretched throughout my session of TF2.

redbanI only force the program to delete the cfg so people don't launch TF2 next time they play TF2 and be whisked away into a demo, and then complain to me that the program broke their TF2 or something. Perhaps I can add an option to not delete the file for users who want to keep the CFG? For now, you could make a new cfg with the settings you want and just exec it once you're inside the demo

Ok, I understand that. Maybe you could make a separate CFG we can edit that doesn't get deleted, something like demobuddycustom.cfg, and add "exec demobuddycustom" to your auto-generated config? Only reason I ask this is because with similar programs and the general unreliability with the demo system, you can end up crashing a lot when watching demos and forgetting to re-execute your configs can get annoying.

Amazing, really looking forward to the PREC options. Might I suggest that we be able to edit the demobuddy.cfg for our own purposes? I have binds that allow me to increase/decrease playback speed that I'd like to add. I noticed it's created/deleted upon opening/closing the program.

#8 Program for finding dpi? in Hardware

Use a ruler to figure out your inches/360, then input your TF2 sensitivity in the notalent website. Change the Mouse DPI field until you get an inches/360 that is close to the one you measured. Also, put 0.75 in the Windows Multiplier field since you're at tick 5.

It's not the most precise way to get it, but if you've got a no name HP mouse it might be your only way. If you have a really high sensitivity (like 1-4 inches) you may want to consider bringing it lower just to make measuring easier. Turn accel off as well if you have it on.
