Not applicable, not only are pubs easy to topscore as pyro but pubbers from 2009 are far dumber than pubbers today. Objectively. Additionally, the sheer amount of weapons added since 2009 makes the stock pyro even worse in competitive today compared to how highlander would play out back in 2009.

Holy shit you guys saying pyro (and to a lesser extent degreaser) needs a nerf need to step the fuck back and understand that pyro is the easiest class to deal with on a 1v1. Literally every class can kill a pyro at 1v1. For pyro to win a 1v1, he has to outsmart the other person (usually through baiting).

It's beyond me how the fuck people can think that pyro is on the same level of medic in terms of support. I just can't wrap my mind around this concept. Pyro has many many jobs in HL, and requires a ton of gamesense to play well. Take away degreaser and you neuter the pyro to pretty much only stay on combo rather than float between combo and flank, which is both lowering the skill ceiling and making the class far more annoying to play against.

I thought I'd post this because I thought it was super fucking cool. Basically, someone made a fan edit of the fourth season to be more like the previous seasons. It's heavily recommended that Season 4 be watched normally before watching this due to unavoidable reveals in the way this is cut.

Perhaps someone can organize a cup with minimal weapon bans for 6s? After a few of those perhaps a season can be organized (not necessarily by ESEA, obv) and we can start seeing some growth?

The only real thing I can see wrong with minimal weapon bans is making medic a class that's just not fun to play considering there's so many things you can die from.

Valve needs to add more weapons like the Rescue Ranger. High skill floor, high skill ceiling. Granted, it was added for MvM almost exclusively but holy shit is it a good unlock.

Claiming that pyro is a support class on the level of medic is absolutely absurd and demonstrates an incredibly limited knowledge of the format at best. Please remember that this thread is HIGHLANDER pick/ban system.

There needs to be always-allowed unlocks too. The thought of a pyro without degreaser is awful to think about, and the ability to go kritz is absolutely fantastic and adds depth to the game.

The problem with wanting variety is that TF2, at its core, is a game of generalists and specialists. Many of the unlocks for soldier, scout, and demoman are downgrades because they are less versatile. In some cases, such as with gunboats, this is an acceptable opportunity cost that improves the game. In most cases, however, they just aren't versatile enough to justify their use over the tried and true stock weapons.

In statistics, those are called outliers and there are various ways to account for them.
