Hey it's me again. Still currently busy with national exams though only one paper left now.
Made a minimal hud. After considering to put shadows or boxes or backgrounds and what not, I decided to upload the raw hud (hence BaseHud). This way others may use it to customise the hud to their liking and also create a new hud based upon this one.
I haven't got anyone to test the hud yet so please inform me if there is any errors.

Thanks to zimmy for basically doing all of this for me, changed the hud/intel images to black "INTEL" text. Looks a lot nicer than the little intel box imo
That looks incredibly sexy
Still messing around with it though, I know I want to do something different with the intel image but i'm still not exactly sure what would work the best. Was thinking of having the CTF Icon from quake but I tried that and it didn't look very good. Not sure what else I could do.
I was thinking of a tiny black and white flag icon since its capture-the-flag and all. I see if i can do this. Always wanted to try.
Edit: do you mind showing me the steps as to how you changed the intel image? I changed the vtf files and all but the normal intel image still shows.
Er zimmy actually did it for me, what I think he did was replaced these two files with the custom ones.

these files should be in "materials/hud" by the way
for some reason, my intel image still remains after changing the appropriate files. Im not sure why isnt it working.

Was bored after studying so played for a while then messed with my hud and came up with a tunnel vision hud derived from my own hud.

Moved carried intel image to above health (I play a lot bball)
Currently thinking of something to replace the blue briefcase with, since I can convert any image to a vtf then use that it can be basically anything.
It would be great if it was possible to use a labelText "intel" instead of the image. Too bad i cant seem to do that.
the hud is largely complete except for some such as the engineer destroy menu.
Also, hasnt been tested for other resolutions, so use at your own risk.
Will complete it and fix bugs after my exams.

How to balance the practicality and aesthetics of a hud.
How to change the shape of health buff or hurt cross into something else (e.g square, circle,etc)
Is it possible to substitute the marked icons (bleed, marked for death) with words instead.

not quite done yet. I still need to edit the win panel,tournament spectator and the res files for the vaccinator and the canteen.
I merged the damage indicator bg with the health value bg to make it more streamlined

qoskThank you all, everything has helped. I'll try out that ImagePanel method, and otherwise I'll use a font I've found (just didn't know I had to put stuff in clientscheme.res).
edit: Rawr that method is really nice, but is there any way to make the flash a little less long-lasting and sudden? I really like the smooth flash from the other method
hmm the flash is connected to the duration of the damage down to opponents. They share the same file afterall. I tried animating the lines to do flash in a quick and short manner just once but doesnt seem to work. Ill get back to you.
