#2 tf2 stuttering in Q/A Help

is it an actual FPS drop? i.e. does the fps counter on net_graph or on showfps go down?

#21 Feeling 'Off" in Q/A Help

Weirdly I feel like I play significantly better after taking several days off from TF2. When I moved in the fall, I didn't play for over two weeks and when I came back my aim was way better. You can think about it like any skill, really—you can get burned out if you work it too much and don't recover. There is probably even some physiology applicable here...learning neural patterning and muscle firing patters, etc. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Anyhow, take a break for a few days. Go play some Super Mario or something if you need to subsist on video games. At the end of the day, though, aim is a fickle friend.

Will this interfere with any anti-cheat or ESEA stuff?

Just as long as there are no Cliff Racers, it'll be great.

#5 ping spiking problem in Hardware

On wireless it can happen because windows decides to scan for new networks. There is a program called WLAN Optimizer than prevents this; also using the program that came with your wireless card (instead of the Windows Zero wireless utility) will also stop this from happening. Not sure why it would happen on a wired connection. You can try plugging directly into the modem to see if it's the router.

Well I'm probably jinxing myself by saying this, but I updated my drivers and things went fine.

#19 Windows 7 120Hz Help in Hardware

It's not life changing, just reeeaaaal smooth. And it's kinda crappy to go back to 60 Hz. It felt like my scout aim improved gradually and consistently, but it wasn't like I went from missing everything to hitting everything.

#20 FPS is sub 20. in Q/A Help

Easy fix: buy (build) a new computer. Even playing at 50 is a huge drag.

#7 Rocket Jump Help in Q/A Help

You might find jumping around in empty 5cp maps more helpful for your pug/scrim/match rocketjumping. At least that's what Jager says.

#4 heatsinks in Hardware

In murrka the hyper 212 is only $30 =P but in any case either of its variants (evo, plus) are great and are compatible with a range of processor sockets. Just check to make sure. I have one and it is super quiet. If you want to spend more money, get the Nocturna D14.

#6 LIST OF USEFUL TF2 TIPS in TF2 General Discussion

As a Soldier, the Frying Pan does identical damage as the Shovel, but is a lot louder. Don't use it when you are trying to stay hidden, as the distinct sound will give your position away!
