#101 ESEA PROMOTION in TF2 General Discussion

Forgive me if this has already been mentioned (i see this and another 8 page thread, so i'm assuming somenoe probably said this already)...but why not combine open/IM and make that open, Main teams become IM, and invite stays invite. Same 3 tier model that worked for pretty much every season right??

alfunksoare the budsquad and quantum flux dead?

QF is still going to play as far as i know. Sal went to another team, and i think cringe is sitting out. It was really fun to start for a full season after not doing so for almost 3 years, but i just don't have the time to dedicate to TF2. Memphisvon will take over roamer, and romeo/sherman are scouts as far as i know. Blink, Chriz, and Tik still in their current roles. Should be a really solid team.

#11 UFC in Off Topic
cookieMy boy Stipe Miocic!

Also UFC's hype went down big time over the last year or so... not as fun as it used to be.

Agreed...they've become like the WWE in amount of pay-per-views. On top of that they have 2-3 reality shows (split up between countries), as well as a bunch of live events that. Not that that's necessarily bad, but the way they market every one is that it will somehow have the "best fight ever in MMA". It's just going over the top in showmanship, which isn't what the true fans want anyways.

That being said, forever and always Wanderlei Silva, always gives it his all. Never seen a boring fight from him ever.

#4 BenQ XL2420Z in Hardware

Thx guys, i'll look into the asus as well.

Because it's so new, i haven't seen any customer or consumer product reviews for it yet. I'm just basing what i posted off of previews of it i read back in December, and the description on their website. $120 is a big difference between the asus and benq, so that's definitely a big turning point if the motion blur isn't what i think it is.

#1 BenQ XL2420Z in Hardware

Just curious if anyone has this yet? Apparently just came out last month with two new features:

1. "Motion Blur" technology which sounds like a non-hack version of lighboost?? Not sure if that is actually true or not, but was hoping on some clarification.
2. Low blue light - which supposedly reduces eye strain and headaches (ala gaming glasses)..once again no clue how accurate this is.

Other specs are like the previous T model...144hz, 1ms GTG, FPS mode, black equalizer.

I have a first gen 120hz Samsung 2233rz that i've been using the last 4 years, so i'm definitely looking to upgrade. Totally willing to take the plunge if it's worth it. Also willing to hear out any other good suggestions.

#171 ESEA-O Grand Finals: Quantum Flux vs. BUDSQUAD in Events

ron i understand where you are coming from - but we've been over this in several threads already. We wanted to play main, and went as far as trying to find a main roster to hijack. That was the only way we could have played in main...and since we couldn't find a roster, we HAD to start in open per ESEA's rules. I think budsquad originally wanted IM (you can correct me if i'm wrong) but faced the same issues we did above.

Teams like meat market, flash sharks, and lonely hearts did more than enough to earn the respect of the community this season. They all played extremely well and split matches with us and bud. Just because they didn't make it to the final means they deserve any less credit. I expect to see them all in main next season, and probably in the playoffs.

#129 ESEA-O Grand Finals: Quantum Flux vs. BUDSQUAD in Events

Match tentatively set for 10:30pm tonight

Thanks again to TFTV, the casters, and most importantly the viewers for sticking it out so long the other night. We didn't want to put on a match with backups, or 5v6 unless absolutely necessary. No one was expecting problems to that extent, hopefully tonight goes smoother.
