What's the whole b@gserfive meme about? What did I miss out on?

#42 overwatch butt drives man nuts in Off Topic

I hate these fads because they always end up being turned and twisted instantly. The issue people had was a pose being uncharacteristic, and within 24 hours it's suddenly that Blizzard bends to SJW-tier complaints, and later on that they just straight up hate sexualization, which leads to the whole Widowmaker ordeal.

Regardless it's a shitty pose, and as the only cheerful character in the cast, they could easily make a pose that fit her better. Sure, Tracer has probably taken a dick or two, so she's not some innocent maiden, but imagine some generic anime pose on Reaper. Even if it's not sexual it doesn't fit the character.

yttriumuberchain did you make that in SFM

because that's not in the game

He didn't make it. You can bug poses onto different characters also.

€1500 is a lot of headsets!

That aside, pretty good show. Not a fan of how poorly executed all the custom textures were though. Could've been done with way less color and achieve the same feel.

#22 Campus employee assaults white student in The Dumpster

Worst part is these people are so absorbed in this hugbox mentality that they can't put two and two together.

You're talking racism. You're literally hitting a guy. Hurting another person. Because they don't care for whatever you say. Replace the words with crying and flailing and you have something you'd except from a fucking toddler.

I can't begin to fathom how the other guy could stand by and not care. If she's fine with being violent, it wouldn't take more than an arm around her neck to hold her til she calms her shit. File it under animal control.

#30 why are open pocket mains always so angry? in TF2 General Discussion
SleepingLifeIncoming nerd essay
It's super fucking easy to feel like you are the only one doing anything because you have infinite health and invincibility

I generally agree with everything you posted but this caught my eye. This is the exact reason I find myself raging, while otherwise usually humble about anything I do.

There's a gray zone between being leashed to your pocket at all times and being 'observant' and buffing everyone, healing the first one down river on Gullywash and such, and the lack of medics doing both is usually what ticks me. It's as if (the people I recall playing with) people just started off halfway up the ladder, and skipped the lesson on healing the guy meant to protect your ass.

I've lost count of times I've been dropped to a simple combo vs combo uber in an otherwise empty corridor because the medic wanted to pull some fancy crap by gaining 2 secs of uber on the enemy. I always end up feeling absolutely floored by the enemy combo, despite matching their pocket in dmg/m and presence, solely because of those 'why is this idiot jumping a buffed combo' moments, where you end up realizing you're at 220 hp in stalemate near choke.

#12 No hats = No skill? in The Dumpster
SmesiIMO If you have unusuals and stuff, that just means that you spend more time trading than actually playing the game.

Also it's a pub so their opinions don't matter.

Or just like not wearing a hat, you're in the top 5%. The only people I see not wearing hats are those in the top teams or scrubs. That aside you're gonna end up with metal and things of worth if you "just play" the game for 6k hours. It'd be like shit talking someone for buying expensive running shoes when he runs 2 hours a day.

#8 in-game stream list idea in TF2 General Discussion

They should just make the list a banner going across the bottom of the screen's width that opens a window with the actual stream, instead of this weird steam browser stuff.

#13 Seagulls - S20 Team Fragmovie in Videos
nykI was a bit disappointed with the filters, because the music was very tasteful and not some obnoxious dubstep/ryan riot stuff etc. which meant adding filters kinda didn't fit in with the mood of the music. But a really good video, and put together really well. But that's kinda what you expect after a year of development :) good job man, I liked it

Music and filters was kind of the one thing I actually liked about the video. Sort of a.. Last year's spring break flashback-thing? Ever so slightly blurry and with warmer colors than otherwise. Dunno. Think it all fit together pretty well. I did get a sense of it being a bit too much in some cases, and felt more like a non-stop effect rather than being used on 'warm' maps, but hey. At least it was something more than just stock colors.

Pretty good.

#96 Confirmed MM Hackers in TF2 General Discussion

I just don't get why anyone would bother yet? Not only are they risking upwards of $+250 hats most of the time, they're also gonna lose the rank once MM goes live and they'll probably be gone in a ban wave. Valve is probably more than aware of who is hacking, but rather swipe it all at once than scare people into not hacking.

That aside there's not even any fun in actually beating a hacker. We managed to speedrun against a few of them and even then, someone just left the second we capped, and wasn't even the hacker stack. So little about MM is rewarding right now due to leaving.

//Also lel. Girls being swarmed by boys. That's one person I wouldn't mind seeing reported heavily and eventually banned, just due to her RATCHETGURRRRL profile.

#1 EU Newbie 6v6 by Publiclir.se in TF2 General Discussion

http://i.imgur.com/iDJ2A0m.png

Following the sudden growth of TF2, caused by both the on-going matchmaking development and (hopefully increasing) inclusion of Twitch streamed content, an initiative has been taken by Publiclir.se to further support TF2’s competitive future.

We will be launching a group with the intention to provide a comfortable environment for newcomers, including both available game and VoIP servers (Mumble), alongside pre-planned in-house 6v6 games and mixes with experienced players.

Rather than functioning as a service, we aim to provide the assistance required to smoothen the transition between being a competitive newcomer and a capable player. This includes answering questions, demo reviews, team mentoring and so on.

One of the biggest impressions a new player receives of competitive TF2 is their first match. If we want newcomers to stick around, a lobby of varying degrees of communication and skill doesn’t represent the real deal, and thus our main goal is to provide a safe playing environment alongside other beginners. We believe that a larger portion of curious players will stay interested if they’re given a reasonable representation of a real match, rather than having to imagine what a real match would be like, based on keybind spam and sniper mains in a lobby.

Sales speech aside, following the success of NA newbie mixes we plan to launch the European equivalent. Matchmaking will definitely make it easier for people to get used to the 6v6 format, but metagame and map calls won’t come by itself.
We will start out with 6/12s mixes (as participants allows) announced through the Steam group, and eventually assist ‘pro’-less teams of 6 in finding matches to play on their own.

This is a new initiative and we will gladly accept both volunteers and additional support offered. We have (more than) enough servers as of right now, so we’re mostly lacking manpower and new players.
