#5 Let's Make a Map in Map Discussion
eIf you make a layout like in paint I can make the map but I'm going to use dev textures you can do the rest if you want. I've wanted to get back into mapping since I stopped afew years ago

That would be great, once we have everything 100%

Also here is the VMF

#1 Let's Make a Map in Map Discussion

Hey guys, so I'm working on designing a map and I needed some help, so I thought I would turn it into a community project.

The map is pretty barren right now. It is technically ready to play, but would lack fun, challenge and balance.

So far I've begun working on the mid point. What should the mid point have? This is what I have so far:

http://i.imgur.com/nNv9Q.jpg

From here you can see it's the boardwalk from Badlands! Pretty basic stuff. It's elevated off the ground though, so the only way up there is a double jump or a rocket jump. However, there are crates on left side of the point (from your team's perspective) that can be used for other classes to get up.

http://i.imgur.com/J7A46.jpg

Another unique feature I added was the ability to cap underneath the point. Now, I know what you're thinking: That doesn't sound balanced! Now, hang on. I thought of some ways to balance it. First, when you go underneath you have to crouch to get to the area where you can cap. This limits your movement and your escape. It is also very easy for a Soldier or demo to hop off the point and spam underneath. Another way to take them out is to fire through the cracks on the ground (exactly the same as badlands).

Now, nothing in this has been tested for perfect balance. All I've tested is the compiling and capping + spawns (which seems to work right now).

I would love to have some constructive critiscm regarding this map. Do you like my ideas so far? If you don't, what are some ways to improve the map? Do you have a suggestion for the mid point (an addition)? Post and if enough people like it, we'll implement it!

#94 ESEA PETITION to Implement Server-Side FOV to 105. in TF2 General Discussion
OdissiuseYou just killed your own argument if there's no difference then just stick with 90 fov
It's okay man, I can see English isn't your native language. I won't hold it against you that you didn't pass Reading Comprehension.

If you're spamming choke for 2 seconds because they are pushing in, you aren't going to see a scout flank behind rock and go under bridge anyway.

Also this assumes you are standing in this exact spot...

In the 90 FOV you wouldn't see that Scout. You have now effectively "changed the game", despite the fact that you said it doesn't change anything. People look at their peripheral vision. You'd see the movement in the 105, but not in 90.

#208 Account Hacked in TF2 General Discussion

I'm going to post a timeline of events to help clarify:

1. I used the wallhack in a private server, with the intent to provide viewers of matches with more information.
2. Deleted the hack, forgot about it, and moved on playing TF2 for about a month.
3. Log into account few days ago, notice that a lot of items are gone!
4. Notice that some items are still there... weird I think
5. Attempt to join off of friend, to cool off after losing my items from a "hacker" (as I just assumed).
6. Get in game notice that says my account is VAC Banned
7. Disconnect and Quit tf2
8. Log into previously made Idle Account, (previously paid for)
9. Log into TeamFortress.tv
10. Post thread that my account was hacked
11. Get accused by the community of hacking
12. Go to Steam Support regarding my account being hacked.
13. Read post on Steam Support that says that When VAC banned you lose TF2 items that are non-purchased
14. Go to readd old friends on Steam on new account
15. Go to add Psychotropic
16. Remember events that occurred as described in Point #1 (because I was thinking of why I didn't lose certain items)
17. It hits me, and I remember that I did in fact use a wallhack, totally deserving the VAC Ban

It does sound fishy, I know, but it is the truth. You can choose to believe me if you want, but I understand that you have reasons to doubt me.

narfLet me get this straight. You BOUGHT 40 keys?

No, but somebody did. If the item was bought ever. All keys had to be bought by someone, but not the same person.

synchroI don't understand who's claiming Otaku got really good overnight.

No offense to him, but I don't get the impression someone would hack for numbers like these.

Yeah pretty much. I'm not really the greatest of players. Why would I hack to lose? Don't most hackers um... win?

#177 Account Hacked in TF2 General Discussion

Another thing I'd like to clear up, you think I changed my story: However! I was never actually hacked! I only ASSUMED I was because I lost all my items! I lost my items and then thought, "How could I lose my items...? I MUST HAVE BEEN HACKED!" Then, after a little thinking, I remembered about the whole wallhack incident... and then it hit me. I did use a hack. A wallhack. But that's it. The reason I lost all my items was because when you get VAC'd you lose all non purchased items. THATS WHY THE KEYS STAYED!

https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=4044-QDHJ-5691

Read the last segment of that page.

So, me "claiming to be hacked", was me originally thinking that I had been hacked; I had no other explanation for why I was VAC Banned. I also did not know VAC was delayed, as I said earlier. But putting the pieces together solves this mystery.

TL;DR I didn't get hacked, I used a wallhack, made a mistake, got VAC'd lets get over it.
