I get the direct modem to computer connection so no one is slowing my internet. I think i should look in my autoexec actually. Is it better for me to select the better connection speed thing?
What do you mean by bad routing? I don't know how to run a traceroute explain further and thank you for responding.
I have really good fiber optic internet and it says i have low ping but i
teleport on occasion. Some days I'm completely fine on one server then I get
nasty teleport lag on others on the same servers. Anyone have a suggestion? I
have the plugs connected well maybe something is interfering? I can alt tab and
surf the internet no problem..
HovisSomething that I noticed after the update today, it'll feel like I'm playing at <30fps sometimes, while in net_graph my reported frame rate will be at least 200fps. I notice it on cp_badlands the most out of all the main 5cp maps.
My game will just become really sluggish/jittery while I stay looking at a certain spot or remain in a certain area of the map.
Anyone else getting this? Or got a fix?
Previously I had never experienced any fps issues, always silky smooth and at least 200fps.
Running Chris's dx9 frames on a Phenom II x4 3.8ghz + HD 6850.
do you run a second monitor? It may have something to do with your drivers try reinstalling at amd's website. also if the phenom has turbo boost technology it's better to keep it stable so the temps don't jump as much and voltage. also, do you have the intel 320 ssd? i've heard it causes those problems a lot.
cpu is bottlenecking. I recommend oc'ing it because that cpu is easily oc'able. Just pick up an aftermarket cooler and oc it slowly to 4 ghz it'll be fine since most people go beyond that.
snail3570k or 3770k. Like many others mentioned, performance gain from Haswell is minimal. You would also need a new mobo for Haswell's LGA 1150 anyways and I just don't see the extra 200$+ justifying the minimal performance gain. (Unless you don't have a LGA1155 mobo right now.)
i really don't understand why people on gaming forums recommend the i7 at all. The i5 is just as good as the i7 as they have the same technology, the i7 just has hyperthreading which is useless for gaming. why spend an extra $100+
skyrim has such an epic lore. I beat it when i had no internet from one of the hurricanes late last year. It was fucking epic. I have played FO3 at a friends house but couldn't get into it.
Just from experience, skyrim is a must buy (i torrented it though LOL)

which processor do you have atm? the 3570k is pretty cheap right now and i'm pretty sure haswell will be expensive when it comes out. Haswell isn't going to be that much better than ivy so i don't recommend waiting for it. I'm going for the ivy even if haswell comes out.

great deal i would get the 580 but i didn't quite save up the money (i plan to in the summer) i do agree though 1 titan is overkill lol what kind of power supply do you have? btw i'd just suggest getting a 3 way sli with 3 680's or 670's (OC'd) It'll save money, work for all your monitors, and be good enough to play every game for a while. Or just cf/sli some 7950's or 7870's.
