I find it odd the reddit admins/mods get really bent out of shape when companies use multiple alt accounts in order to simulate organic feedback, opinions, or upvotes, yet they oblige to twitch's request of censorship.

Tino_Not going to lie but i am really surprised this is the first real shitstorm on twitch, with how many people stream and how many more watch those streams per day its kinda amazing that nothing has happened sooner and more often
And perhaps, partially explains the response. They haven't had a crisis before so they're running off of instinct trying to put the fire out, but they grabbed the cooking oil instead of the water bucket. The result? Kentucky Fried Controversy.

BentomatTF2 has floundered for a long time because the community insists on clinging to independent leagues. None has ever done much good, and the big one is apparently going to court. It's hard to make a compromise when you think you've settled on the best format, but the opportunity to have Valve behind you is too important to pass on - just look at Dota.
Not by choice, TF2 has been the red-headed stepchild for a while now.
Honestly, it's worth a try at least. We'd probably have to put together a 2-year budget, maybe pull in a couple of our own sponsors to get Valve to look at it.

Let me toss this idea out there:
Since we're obviously not all going to be on the same page regarding which league to support, how about this: We form a committee to track the progress of each involved league, this committee would be responsible for judging the comparative skill levels of the players. And at the end of each season (assuming 3 seasons in a year), this committee selects the best team of each league in that season and invites them to an end-of-year World Championship LAN.
The idea being both to reduce the financial requirement on teams and organizers by hosting only the 1 Big LAN as opposed to three little ones, and to generate more interest by being able to bring together more teams to compete for the title.
Of course, since I'm bringing it up I am willing to work to make it happen, or any other solution that we decide on.
