Hey guys. What happened over last weekend was surreal, I'm still pretty shocked.
I'll be emailing all the raffle winners soon. I'd have done it already, but I kinda left the list I have at my parents house. I'll be remaking that list and sending out info probably tomorrow sometime.
For those wondering about the 1.9% of the donations that went to imraising, I will still be covering that as planned. The total we raised is a whole lot more than I expected though, and it will take me a couple weeks before I can feel comfortable making that donation ($172.52).
This was an awesome weekend thrown together at the last second by a bunch of people from many of the wonderful tf2 subcommunities- 6s-ers, hl-ers, jumpers, surfers, pubbers, youtubers, streamers, and traders. It wouldn't have been as successful as it was if it weren't for the diversity of the communities that were represented.
If you just look at the surface of the TF2 community situation, you may say that these different groups wouldn't be compatible. The thing that I've personally taken away from this event is that that is nowhere near the truth. We have our differences and our bad apples (just like all communities do), but something about Team Fortress 2 magically attracts a thousand kind-hearted, well-meaning people for every bad apple in the bunch.
This event just adds to the pool of stories that show how special and unique our great community is, and I love you guys for it!
In the great words of Duder after the stream cut: "TF2 can? Nah, TF2 did."
